Edin Terzic is interested in becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur manager and has turned down the chance to manage several clubs in Europe to hold out for a Premier League job, according to the Telegraph.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have added the former Borussia Dortmund boss and Marco Rose to their list of potential candidates to succeed Thomas Frank.

An interview process is now underway, but it is unknown whether Spurs see the duo as interim or permanent options.

Tottenham also have Mauricio Pochettino on their radar, and their former manager has revealed that he is currently in London.

He has posted a picture of himself on social media platform Instagram at a restaurant with a member of his coaching staff, Toni Jimenez.

However, the Argentine cannot take a job before the summer due to his commitment to the United States national team ahead of the World Cup.

Terzic would fancy his chances of impressing at Spurs having done a brilliant job in the Bundesliga with Dortmund.

The German won the DFB-Pokal with them in 2020-21 before leading them to the final of the Champions League in 2023-24.

Terzic has not managed a club since leaving Dortmund in June 2024 and will be ready to hit the ground running if appointed to succeed Frank.

Rose has been out of work since RB Leipzig sacked him a year ago, but he could also be perfect for Tottenham having also managed the likes of Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Dortmund.

More names are expected to emerge in the coming days as Spurs look to appoint the perfect man after struggles in the domestic competitions under Ange Postecoglou and Frank over the last two seasons.

Why De Zerbi is the right pick for the Tottenham job

Why De Zerbi is the right pick for the Tottenham job - sportsview.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are searching for a new manager following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.

The Danish tactician was never the right fit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

His route-one style of play was not the ideal tactical approach for a team that wants to play front-foot football.

With Frank’s chapter at Spurs now closed, the North London club must ensure it does not get it wrong with its next pick.

Tottenham’s decision-making at the top hasn’t really inspired confidence, but if they pick the wrong man, it could set the club back for years.

Tottenham need a forward-thinking, tactically grounded, and experienced figure to turn the tide and return the club to the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Enter Roberto De Zerbi.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager is a well-respected tactician who has shown he can deliver attacking football.

“His sides have a strong identity; they play really good football,” coaching great Carlo Ancelotti said regarding De Zerbi (via Football Italia).

Another legendary coach, Pep Guardiola, had also lauded De Zerbi, calling him one of the coaches he admires most in world football.

De Zerbi famously led Brighton to the Europa League and earned plaudits for his work with the Seagulls.

His tenure in Marseille ended poorly, but his first season with the club was quite memorable.

This Tottenham squad is crying out for De Zerbi’s tactical nuance after looking inept under Ange Postecoglou and Frank.

The 46-year-old is the kind of forward-thinking hire the club needs.

The idea of Mauricio Pochettino should be shelved. Nostalgia should not rule such an important decision.

De Zerbi is the way to go, and Spurs should be doing everything to get him to sign on the dotted line.

Even if he is not keen on taking on a new job immediately, Spurs must find an interim to hold the seat for him until the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to have a new man in charge by next Monday, when Spurs players return to training from a five-day break, according to the Telegraph.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club sacked Thomas Frank on Wednesday morning and are looking for a replacement.

Robbie Keane has been linked with the job but is only interested in the permanent position and would not agree to return to his former club as the interim head coach until the end of the season.

Spurs have other targets in mind and are believed to be open to appointing a temporary boss until someone like Mauricio Pochettino is available in the summer.

Keane has impressed at Ferencvaros, and he would be Tottenham’s “Carrick candidate”, given he still retains a strong connection with fans and club staff long after his playing days.

The 45-year-old won the league title with the Hungarian top-flight club last season after joining midway through the campaign.

Ferencvaros are currently top of the league with 12 games remaining, but Keane could be open to leaving them for a permanent job at Tottenham.

He won the Israeli Premier League title with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023-24 and will fancy his chances of keeping Spurs up and challenging for major silverware next season.

The North London club are just five points above the relegation zone with 12 games left and could find themselves in a relegation battle if their fortunes do not improve immediately.

Tottenham may have to consider their assistant manager John Heitinga as a short-term option, but they favour appointing an external candidate if possible.

They return to action next Sunday, when they take on Arsenal, and may need to wrap things up over the weekend if they want a definite plan in place at the start of next week.

Tottenham Hotspur player claims Thomas Frank was ultimately a coach for a smaller team - sportsview.co.uk
Description

One senior first-team Tottenham Hotspur player has claimed that Thomas Frank was ultimately a coach for a “smaller team”, according to The Athletic.

Spurs players did not enjoy the limited nature of Frank’s football, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club decided to part with the Dane yesterday.

Tottenham players felt he mainly focused on compact defensive shape, long balls and counter-attacks.

He was unable to get the best out of the talent available to him, and the player in question felt that he was only able to perform at ’10 per cent’ of his potential because of Frank’s restrictive tactics.

Only two players – Pedro Porro and Joao Palhinha – have reacted on social media to his sacking, and it is safe to say he was not popular with most of the Tottenham stars.

He impressed at Brentford but could not manage Spurs well and the North London club will be wary of giving the job to a manager from a mid-table team.

Assistant Tottenham head coach John Heitinga is among the options being considered to replace Frank on a short-term basis, and the Dutchman has been taking first-team training since his departure.

Former Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi has been linked with the job, while Mauricio Pochettino is said to be keen on returning ahead of his contract with the United States Men’s National Team expiring at the end of the World Cup.

Spurs will not be short of options but will be careful about their next managerial appointment having ended up sacking recent bosses.

John Heitinga is among the options being considered to replace Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Times.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club sacked Frank this morning and are looking at replacements ahead of the derby against Arsenal on February 22.

Spurs could give Heitinga the job on a short-term basis. He took first-team training this morning.

The 42-year-old became Tottenham assistant head coach in January and has much-needed managerial experience having twice been in charge at Ajax.

He was an interim manager at the Eredivisie club for the second half of the 2022-23 season before becoming permanent boss last summer.

Heitinga was sacked last November. He returned to the Premier League at Tottenham, having worked as assistant manager at West Ham United in 2023-24 and at Liverpool last season.

It is unclear whether he will get the job as Spurs are expected to make an interim appointment until the end of the season.

Former Tottenham managerial target Roberto De Zerbi is available after Marseille parted ways with him earlier today.

He was on their shortlist when they were looking to replace Postecoglou last summer, with Fabio Paratici favouring him.

More names will keep emerging in the coming days as Tottenham plan for the future.

Injuries did not help Frank, but much more was expected. He can have no excuses for his abysmal reign.

Heitinga will fancy his chances of impressing if given the chance, and he will hope to get an opportunity until the end of the season.

Tottenham could be in the relegation battle after the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United last night left them five points above the drop zone.

Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with manager Thomas Frank following a woeful Premier League campaign since he succeeded Ange Postecoglou ahead of 2025-26.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have lost 11 league games this term, and the 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United last night proved to be the final straw.

Spurs expect to make an interim appointment until the end of the season, according to the Telegraph, but it is unclear who will replace Frank in the short term.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Tottenham are working through various possible contingency plans to replace the former Brentford boss.

Plenty of managers are expected to be linked with Spurs going forward, but a permanent appointment may not happen until the end of the season.

Marseille parted with Roberto De Zerbi in the early hours of today, and he could emerge as a contender to replace Frank.

Mauricio Pochettino has also been often linked with a return to Tottenham, and he could be available after the World Cup in July.

Frank did not do enough to convince the fans or board that he has what it takes to lead Spurs to the next level despite the several injury woes which beleaguered his squad.

The club will hope to get their next appointment right. They need to have someone in place who can hit the ground running when they take on Arsenal on February 22.

They are 16th in the league table, five points above the relegation zone, and a defeat to the Gunners could drop them to 17th if Nottingham Forest collect four points over their next two games.

Spurs face Fulham, Crystal Palace and Liverpool in the league after the Arsenal game, and they could be in a relegation battle if their results do not improve.

Tottenham Hotspur are without a win in their last eight Premier League games, with last night’s 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United leaving them five points above the relegation zone.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have now lost 11 league games this term, and manager Thomas Frank is under more pressure.

He insisted last night that his position is safe. However, according to the BBC’s Sami Mokbel, Tottenham have explored contingencies if they decide to sack him.

Spurs are back in action on February 22 when they host league leaders Arsenal, and they have enough time to bring in a replacement if they axe Frank.

While injuries to key players have not helped, the Tottenham boss will have no excuses if a defeat to Arsenal drops the team into the relegation zone.

It is unclear whether he will be in charge of the game, and few people would be surprised if he is shown the exit door in the coming days.

Defeats against Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Bournemouth and West Ham United have left many people questioning his ability.

Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League last term and have not improved on the domestic front despite sacking Ange Postecoglou last summer as a result of their woeful domestic campaign.

They could be in a relegation battle if significant improvements do not take place sooner rather than later, and sacking Frank could be the most prudent option.

There was private optimism last October that Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski could return by the end of 2025 - sportsview.co.uk
Description

There was private optimism last October that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski could be back from injury by the end of 2025, according to The Athletic.

However, it has taken more time than anyone at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club expected last May for the Spurs star to be ready given the complexity of the injury.

Kulusevski injured his right patella with two league games left in 2024-25, with a collision with Marc Guehi during a league game against Crystal Palace proving catastrophic.

The Sweden international had set specific targets he was focusing on as he eyed a swift return for Tottenham.

However, they kept being pushed back further and further into the future, which has prompted him to change his thoughts.

Instead of thinking directly about specific targets for his return, Kulusevski is now taking things one day at a time, working hard every day to ensure he is ready to hit the ground running once he is fully fit.

He has yet to play for manager Thomas Frank and the Spurs boss could do with his creativity as the season starts to take shape.

It remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old will return for Tottenham before the end of the season, but Sweden are hoping to have him available for their World Cup qualification play-offs next month.

They play Ukraine on March 26, and will play either Poland or Albania on March 31 if they win.

Kulusevski has not yet been ruled out, and Spurs will be praying he returns very soon as they look to secure European football for next season.

They are just three places and nine points above the relegation zone, but only ten points separate them from sixth-place Liverpool after 24 games and their fortunes could still change over the next 14 league fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur turned down the chance to sign Jhon Duran on loan

Tottenham Hotspur turned down the chance to sign Colombian striker Jhon Duran on loan on the winter transfer deadline day, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have had their squad decimated by injuries this term, but manager Thomas Frank decided against signing the former Aston Villa striker.

The 22-year-old ended his time in the Premier League with 20 goals in 78 games for the Midlands club and was keen on joining Tottenham.

However, they opted to stick with Randal Kolo Muani, having decided not to end his loan deal.

“Tottenham were offered the possibility to sign Jhon Duran on loan from Fenerbahce, who is on loan from Al-Nassr,” Romano revealed on the Here We Go podcast this evening.

“He was offered to Tottenham as a last-minute chance for Spurs. The club decided against it.

“It was a possibility that was offered because some people in the industry thought that Tottenham were going to break the loan for Randal Kolo Muani to go to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain.

“So that was a possibility, but Tottenham decided to continue with Kolo Muani. He started the last two games, so they decided to trust the player and turn down the opportunity to sign Duran, who was keen on this possibility.”

Spurs defender Cristian Romero was far from impressed with the lack of much-needed additions to the squad in the last transfer window, insisting they only had 11 players available for the Manchester City game.

Tottenham signed Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid and defender Souza from Santos, before adding Hearts forward James Wilson on loan on transfer deadline day to their under-21s squad.

It appears they were satisfied with their winter window, which was why they did not bother to add Duran to their attack despite his experience and quality.

They will hope their current players stay fit for the rest of the season. Frank cannot afford any more injuries, and Spurs need a turnaround after an underwhelming domestic campaign.

Ng Wing-Fai and Brooklyn Earick teaming up to buy Daniel Levy’s Tottenham Hotspur stake

Description

Ng Wing-Fai and Brooklyn Earick are teaming up to buy out Daniel Levy’s stake in Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Sun.

The duo failed with individual bids to buy the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club and are now looking to work together.

Levy wants around £1 billion for his 29.9 per cent stake in Spurs, and a sale could put owners ENIC under more pressure.

British business executive Amanda Staveley is also mulling a fresh bid next month after her investment vehicle – PCP International Finance – were linked with a potential Tottenham takeover at the beginning of the campaign.

Earick headed a 12-man group that had planned to lodge an offer to acquire the North London club in a £4.5bn deal.

He was keen to offer £3.3bn to buy out the current Spurs owners – ENIC and the Lewis family – through a US consortium.

Earick also claimed they were ready to set aside a further £1.2bn for transfers and line up a £250m stadium naming rights deal for Spurs.

However, he withdrew his bid despite several meetings with Douglas Armstrong, the Lewis family’s legal counsel.

Hong Kong businessman Wing Fai also led a consortium that wanted to offer the Tottenham owners a deal.

They are both prevented from making a bid or attempting a takeover for six months – a period which runs out on March 6 – under Takeover Panel rules for withdrawing their separate bids.

However, either or both of them are not prevented from purchasing Levy’s stake as it is marginally below the 30 per cent threshold which would demand a full bid.

It remains to be seen whether anything will materialise from the attempted joint-bid to buy out Levy’s stake, but ENIC maintain they have no plans to sell the club.

Tottenham fans were disappointed after the board failed to make much-needed additions to the squad during the winter transfer window, and they are hoping a takeover would happen.
