Description

Eberechi Eze scored the winner in the FA Cup final in May – it’s little surprise, then, that he’s in demand this summer.

The 26-year-old has played a pivotal role for Crystal Palace since moving to Selhurst Park from QPR in 2020, helping them bag their first ever major trophy with victory over Manchester City at Wembley at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Since then, he’s been linked with a host of clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs legend on Eze's possible impact

Spurs are under new management after the appointment of Thomas Frank, bidding to improve on a highly disappointing 17th-placed finish last time around, even if they ended the campaign by winning the Europa League.

Mathys Tel has already converted his loan from Bayern Munich into a permanent deal, but Son Heung-min might leave this summer.

“When you look at Tottenham’s first team, it’s quite formidable,” Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham said. “They had a lot of bad luck with injuries, but there’s a lot of talent already there.

“But Thomas will want to put his own mark on the side. I think you’ve got to look at replacing Son. Maybe they’re already looking at Mathys Tel as being the man to do that, I don’t know. But they have already signed him and spent £30 million on him.

"For that amount of money, they’ll expect big things from Tel, even though he’s still young. But I think there are players they can add, still.”

Sheringham is a fan of Eze, and thinks he could even have the same impact on Spurs as Eric Cantona at Manchester United – back in the early 1990s, the Frenchman moved to Old Trafford and transformed the team.

“Players like Eze would enhance that football club,” said Sheringham, speaking in association with Racing Tipster.

“They’re in the Champions League this coming season, so they can afford to push the boat out and sign some players with a big stature and reputation.

“I think Eze is definitely one of those that would walk into Tottenham Hotspur and think ‘This is a proper place, I’m going to enjoy playing my football here’.

“I think he can shine the way Eric Cantona did when he went to Man United all those years ago. He could become the main man at Spurs, and that’s the type of player you want coming into your club.”

Tottenham given green light for Harry Kane homecoming, following Bayern Munich's 'full verbal agreement': report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have received their clearest indication yet that all-time scorer Harry Kane's return could be on the cards.

With 213 Premier League goals, Kane is a legend at Tottenham and is ranked at no.8 in FourFourTwo's list of the greatest Premier League players of all time for his contributions in a Spurs shirt.

But far from a spent force, Kane is still just 31 and ranked at no.2 in FourFourTwo's list of the best strikers in the world right now.

Tottenham have first refusal on cut-price re-signing of Kane

Bayern Munich made Kane their all-time record signing in 2023 with the striker wanting to leave Spurs to end his silverware drought, which happened this season with the capture of the Bundesliga title.

With BILD revealing that the England captain has a cut-price release clause of under £60 million – and with the Lilywhites having a first refusal – a homecoming has always been a possibility.

Now, German journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Bayern have reached a full verbal agreement on signing Nick Woltemade this summer from Stuttgart.

The Bremen-born no.9 is said to have agreed terms until 2030 – and with Kane's contract in Bavaria set to expire in 2027, there is a clear contingency plan for the 23-year-old to shadow the all-time England scorer and potentially replace him at the Allianz Arena.

FourFourTwo understands that Kane has no intention of leaving German football this summer, but the signing of Woltemade accelerates the possibility of leaving next year, when Bayern will be able to recoup some of the £82.61m they spent to make him one of the top 25 most expensive players of all time.

In terms of his future, FourFourTwo understands that Kane would welcome the possibility to one day return to N17 in some capacity – but that the United States could offer an opportunity for the forward, who may be interested in playing in Major League Soccer.

Tottenham in concrete offer for Lyon star, following crisis: report

Tottenham in concrete offer for Lyon star, following crisis: report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the clubs circling Lyon as the French club are in desperate need to offload their most expensive stars.

Tottenham may look to profit, as Les Gones received the much-dreaded news this week that they are being demoted to Ligue 2 as punishment for their poor financial state.

To both boost their coffers and readjust to their new level, Lyon are going to need to sell players fast, and Spurs could become one of the beneficiaries.

Tottenham to raid Lyon for 17-goal star

Following their Europa League final triumph against Manchester United at the end of the season, and the cash injection that follows, Spurs have funds to spend.

They also have a new boss in Thomas Frank – ranked at no.15 in FourFourTwo's list of the best managers in the world right now – who will be eager to bolster his squad ahead of his first season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was revealed by Italian outlet TuttoJuve that Spurs are eyeing Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze following the turmoil the French club were plunged into this week.

The Georgia international registered 17 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Les Gones last season and, still only 24 years old, seems unlikely to drop into the second tier.

The Italian news site also revealed that Juventus are considering forward, with a number of English sides also tracking him.

Nevertheless, according to TuttoJuve, it is Spurs who are currently the frontrunners.

In FourFourTwo’s opinion, this is a no-brainer from Tottenham’s perspective.

Clubs across Europe will be alert to Lyon’s difficult situation, which will provide them very little leverage in negotiations and could spawn some bargains.

Although they do have Dominic Solanke, he was not the most reliable for goals and missed more than his fair share of minutes through injury, so if a player like Mikautadze is available for a knock-down price, they have to explore it.

The Tottenham 2025/26 away kit is out – and FourFourTwo are huge fans.

Premier League sides are beginning to release their new jerseys ahead of kick-off for the new campaign in August, and Spurs' moody-looking away kit gets a huge thumbs up from us.

Dark and bold, the Nike design features interesting details with Champions League nights under the lights set to return for the Lilywhites next term.

The Tottenham 2025/26 away kit takes inspiration from the club's iconic slogan

The design pays tribute to London after dark, with aura personified. It's the first black kit for Tottenham in over a decade and pays homage to that iconic 14/15 jersey that looked brilliant under Mauricio Pochettino.

A little more sleek and modern, London's nightscape is referenced throughout, with the heavy black details complemented by white and grey features that result in a crisp jersey.

Modelled by stars from both Tottenham's men's and women's teams, the likes of Djed Spence, Dominic Solanke, Heung-min Son, Ella Morris and Jess Naz all feature in the release images.

It arrives under the banner ‘In Darkness We Dare’ – a bold twist on the club’s esteemed motto as they mark a welcome return to Champions League away nights.

Tottenham's badge, along with the classic Nike logo, accompanies shirt sponsor AIA to make a simplistic shirt feel so modern.

Grey trimming around the collar with 'SPURS' placed neatly on the back adds the finishing touches to what could be a classic for years to come in north London.

"Stunning, black, can't go wrong. I think it looks great," said Ella Morris in Spurs' behind-the-scenes video released via their YouTube channel. "Yeah, it's very nice. It's a top colour - very good," added goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Fellow players Son, Spence and Naz also featured throughout the sneak peek, and you can watch the footage via Tottenham's official platforms.

Tottenham given nod to land Euro 2024 superstar, following European football crisis: report

Tottenham given nod to land Euro 2024 superstar, following European football crisis: report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham are said to be lining up a summer move for one of Euro 2024's breakout stars.

Thomas Frank will be eager to impress after taking on the reins following Ange Postecoglou's dismissal. The Dane will also be tasked with guiding Spurs through a Champions League campaign after they won the Europa League last term.

Improving in all areas of the pitch looks to be paramount to Daniel Levy's plans, and one forward from Ligue 1 could unlock the key given his cut-throat price in the current market.

Tottenham 'leading the race' to sign 17-goal star

With club captain Heung-min Son enduring an inconsistent campaign, the 32-year-old is one player who has been linked with a potential exit in north London this summer. Son's contract is set to expire in 2026, and it remains to be seen whether Spurs look to cut ties now or allow him to leave the club on a potential free transfer next summer.

Scoring only 11 times, Son's numbers speak for themselves, especially compared to the 17 he hit in 2023/23. Dominic Solanke is currently bearing the weight in attack, and with Richarlison's future to be resolved, a new forward addition has been talked up.

Fichajes have reported Tottenham are 'leading the race' to sign Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze, who may now be available for cheap after the Ligue 1 side were relegated to the second tier of French football for failing to comply with financial rulings.

Mikautadze, 24, was superb at Euro 2024 for Georgia, scoring 3 goals in 4 matches for the minnows and thus earned himself a move to Lyon last summer.

The former FC Metz star netted 17 goals and chalked up another 11 assists in all competitions last term, and is able to play both on the left or through the middle in attack. His versatility may be the root of Tottenham's interest.

In FourFourTwo's view, the Georgian forward has a real presence about him in forward areas and with numbers to back it up, plenty of other Premier League clubs would be silly not to consider him given his pedigree and age.

Further information indicates talks 'are progressing' between Tottenham and Lyon, with Transfermarkt valuing the 24-year-old at €22m (£18.7m). The fact that the Ligue 1 side needs to sell has helped speed up matters.

Tottenham give the green light for Richarlison to 'leave for champions': report

Tottenham give the green light for Richarlison to 'leave for champions': report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham are said to have a 'green light' to allow Richarlison to leave the club.

The 27-year-old forward, who scored just four times for Spurs last season, saw his minutes dwindle in north London, no thanks to the summer arrival of Dominic Solanke.

Since then, the former Everton man has found it hard to yield first-team starts and was restricted to just four in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou. He did manage 24 appearances in total, but a new challenge may be on the cards this summer.

Richarlison allowed to leave Tottenham for 'champions' in summer swoop

At 27, it seems Richarlison has a huge few months ahead. Under contract with Tottenham until 2027, it is no secret that interest has arrived for the former Watford man.

Two clubs in Turkey have shown they would be willing to take him away from the Premier League should the opportunity now arise, especially given Spurs have most recently been linked with a move for Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, which would place him even further down the pecking order.

According to Posta in Turkey, Galatasaray have thrown their hat into the mix to sign Richarlison, especially given there is now uncertainty as to whether or not Victor Osimhen will join them permanently following the expiration of his loan deal.

Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce are also mentioned in the report, although there is no mention of the fee Spurs would like to garner from any possible deal. Both a loan deal and a permanent transfer are mentioned.

Further interest from former club Everton and even in Saudi Arabia has been talked up in recent weeks, whilst RTI Esporte in Brazil says Richarlison is alternatively happy in north London and wants to remain with Thomas Frank's side in order to better help his chances at reemerging as an option for Brazil.

Of course, current Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti worked with Richarlison during his brief stint at Everton, and that could be the reason the Spurs man was recalled for the June internationals, in which he played against Ecuador and Paraguay.

In FourFourTwo's view, Richarlison's output in front of goal last season was poor, hence why Solanke was often chosen to play instead of him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether new manager Frank sees a future for the Brazil international; if not, funds from his sale could be reinvested into bringing in a new option to help lessen the burden on Solanke next term.

Tottenham smash record for Thomas Frank's first new summer transfer: report

Tottenham smash record for Thomas Frank's first new summer transfer: report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have broken a new record in order to sanction the first signing of Thomas Frank's era.

Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou as the new Spurs boss, will look to make the Lilywhites competitive once again, after they finished in 17th in the Premier League last season, just 13 points above the relegation places.

But questions were raised given Tottenham did win the Europa League after their success over Manchester United, with Frank now set to guide his new side into the Champions League next season.

Tottenham break 'new record' to sanction Thomas Frank's first signing

It seems odd to have replaced Postecoglou, given the former Celtic boss ended Spurs' 17-year wait for a trophy, with a whole host of players missing through injury across a disastrous campaign.

But, chairman Daniel Levy felt the club needed new direction and thus Frank was drafted in as Postecoglou's replacement. Much of the speculation has been which players could arrive in north London this summer, with one man now set to join from Japan.

As per multiple reports, via Fabrizio Romano and BBC Sport, Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Kawasaki Frontale star Kota Takai. The 20-year-old centre-back, who is already a Japan international, is expected to arrive at the club next month.

The move, estimated to be worth in the region of £5m, will be a record fee paid for a Japanese player from the J League and Takai will provide competition alongside Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin next season.

Takai has won four caps for Japan's senior side, making his international debut in a World Cup qualifier versus China last September. He made 28 appearances last season for Kawasaki Frontale, scoring twice.

He was also voted the J-League's 'Best Young Player in 2024', further proving his capabilities in the division.

In FourFourTwo's view, Takai seems to be a decent pick up for the Lilywhites, especially given his price tag and his international pedigree at only 20. Whether or not he can cope with the step up English football brings remains to be seen.

But Frank has helped developed players similar to Takai in the past and Tottenham will hope his influence can unearth another gem ready for next season.

Tottenham circling £30m Pedro Porro upgrade as Thomas Frank's first new signing: report

Tottenham circling £30m Pedro Porro upgrade as Thomas Frank's first new signing: report - FourFourTwo
Description

There is a new dawn at Tottenham Hotspur under Thomas Frank.

The Dane has taken over from Ange Postecoglou and will already be in the process of working out how he intends to put his stamp on the north London club.

One surefire way to do that is to bring in some new players that he can mould to his own requirements at Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur look to Europe for new recruits

Pedro Porro was originally one of the most important players under Postecoglou for his ability to race forward from full-back and create chances, combining well with Destiny Udogie on the other flank.

But this latest reported interest suggests Spurs are open to recruiting some competition for the Spain international.

A recent report from Brazilian outlet UOL claimed Tottenham are willing to drop significant money on AS Monaco right-back Vanderson.

That report claimed that Barcelona were also circling, but the latest from Sport in Spain revealed that the Catalan giants have cooled their interest in this position, after Eric Garcia covered so well for the injured Jules Kounde towards the end of the season.

Liverpool were another club mooted, but they filled their Trent Alexander-Arnold-sized squad gap with Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

All that means the path appears to have cleared for Spurs, with them reportedly willing to meet Monaco’s €35m asking price.

In FourFourTwo’s opinion, it would be a surprise to see Spurs sign such obvious Porro competition, as he’s regarded as one of the team’s best players

However, if the north London club do indeed spend that sort of money on a defensive player, you’d expect the intention is for them to have a pretty immediate impact on the first team.

And Vanderson fits the bill regarding Porro’s attacking output, with the 23-year-old have experience all down the right flank; as a full-back, wing-back and even, on occasion, a winger.

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min in talks to leave, with 'advanced relations' cited: report

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min in talks to leave, with 'advanced relations' cited: report - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min could soon be exiting the north London club.

Once part of a formidable partnership with Harry Kane, there is no question the South Korea international’s powers appeared to have waned last season.

Thankfully, after an almost 10-year association with Tottenham, Son finally marked his time at the club with a trophy last season, lifting the Europa League under departed boss Ange Postecoglou.

Son weighs up transfer away from Tottenham

Son has scored over 100 goals for Tottenham, and is ranked at no.35 in FourFourTwo's list of the greatest Premier League players of all time – the highest placing of any Asian player in the list.

Now 32 and somewhat struggling with the intensity of the Premier League, however, it appears Son is weighing up where to begin the twilight of his career.

According to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Son has met with current Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho.

They know each other from when the Special One was in the dugout with Spurs from November 2019 until April 2021, when Son was in the midst of some of his best years.

Relations between the two are thought to be “at a very advanced level” with the player open to the move and a transfer fee of £30m mooted.

Son – the third-most expensive Asian player of all time – would be Spurs’ second permanent sale of the summer window, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to make his Marseille loan permanent when his current contract expires at the end of June.

In FourFourTwo’s opinion, now seems the perfect time for Son to wave goodbye. Ending on the high of a Europa League trophy, that long-awaited piece of silverware at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, will cement the forward’s place as a legend of the club.

FourFourTwo understands that the Lilywhites are open to a sale, too, having triggered an option to extend the no.7's contract in January, so that they wouldn't lose him for free this summer.

Tottenham report: Thomas Frank accelerating plans for Dominic Solanke replacement

Tottenham report: Thomas Frank accelerating plans for Dominic Solanke replacement - FourFourTwo
Description

Tottenham have begun exciting plans for a new centre-forward.

Thomas Frank's arrival, a full pre-season and Champions League football have given Spurs fans added excitement about what can be achieved, especially after winning silverware last season.

With captain Son Heung-min linked with a potential exit, Tottenham need more firepower in attack, especially given star striker Dominic Solanke only managed 9 in the Premier League last season.

Thomas Frank wants new striker in at Tottenham as matter of urgency

Despite finishing 17th in the Premier League, the Lilywhites did score 64 times in the division, ranking them 7th highest for their attacking output across the 2024/25 campaign. Injuries to a whole host of players curtailed their progress, especially given Ange Postecoglou jumped to defend his squad in the media.

But now, under the watchful eye of Frank, Tottenham's players will be looking over their shoulders, given the names already being linked with the club. Bryan Mbuemo is one player who could arrive in north London this summer, as well as one goalscoring machine from France.

Stade Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo banged in 18 goals in all competitions last season and is already being watched carefully by multiple Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Newcastle United, according to L’Equipe.

They now claim Spurs have ‘decided to accelerate in the last few hours’ with a move for the 23-year-old, with his value estimated by Transfermarkt thought to be only €22m (£18.7m) at present.

Although 'no official offer' has been made yet, it seems Tottenham have been handed the best chance of signing Kalimuendo, who has a contract in France that runs until 2027.

Bayer Leverkusen are another club rumoured to be interested in the forward, but for now, FourFourTwo believes Spurs and Newcastle United would be the more attractive propositions, with the wages they would be able to offer the France Under-23 international.

"Arnaud has real strengths when it comes to evading pressure, especially with his first touch," explained Rennes manager Habib Beye. "I think those qualities come through more clearly when he plays on the right. He doesn’t lose pace there like he sometimes does on the left.

"He has the potential to score 20 goals in Ligue 1, maybe more. Arnaud is a major talent in this league. He just needs to keep pushing himself."
