Tottenham Hotspur are poised to make their first signing of the summer following successful negotiations.

That's according to reports which claim that the Lilywhites are set for manager Ange Postecoglou's first buy of the summer. Postecoglou has revolutioned his squad over the past 12 months and is reportedly keen on adding more depth to his side, bringing in the likes of James Maddison.

While there are plenty of positions that Tottenham need strengthening in, one Euro 2024 star appears to be the first name arriving in north London.

Turkish outlet Aslinda says that Poland international Sebastian Szymanski agreed personal terms ahead of signing a four-year deal with Spurs.

Chairman Daniel Levy will have to increase his bid of €17.5 million, however, if he wants to agree on a fee with Fenerbahce. It was previously claimed by TeamTalk that the Pole would cost £30m.

Szymanski is currently at the Euros with Poland, having moved to the Super Lig last year. The midfield dynamo can fit in alongside Maddison but could be used as depth in the centre of the park, too.

In FourFourTwo's view, it seems as if the 25-year-old is all but done with just a price to be agreed for his transfer. This may be a sticking point – as it has been with Spurs in the past – but Szymanski is affordable enough for Spurs fans to expect him as depth primarily.

With a contract all agreed with the star, it is possible that the move is just a matter of time.

Transfermarkt rates Szymanski to be worth €19m.

While Spurs regularly have a blue away strip, this one just feels different. From the lighter two-tone shade to the navy accents as well as the subtle stripe detailing, there's plenty to love about the new Tottenham away kit.

What truly makes this kit special, though, is undoubtedly how it manages to pay tribute to the strip worn by Spurs in their triumphant 1984 UEFA Cup season. The club's last European trophy, Tottenham drew 1-1 with Anderlecht in the first leg of the final in a striped, two-tone light blue kit with a centralised crest, which has all clearly made a resplendent return for the 2024/25 season.

There's some subtle details that elevates this effort from Nike, too. The yellow accents on the sleeves are a brilliant touch, while the v-neck is exactly what Gary Miller wore when scoring against Anderlecht at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels 40 years ago.

Look closer, though, and one quarter of the collar is cut slightly shorter and thinner. We're not sure the reason, but we love it. Plus, the stripes have extra layers of pattern and detail that really helps the different tones of blue all pop against one another.

Changing the red AIA sponsor to navy is a great decision as well. While the home shirt is slightly ruined by that decision, the change ensures it is in-keeping with the rest of the accents on the top.

It's clean, sophisticated and celebrates the club's most-recent European achievement.

More Premier League kit drops

Liverpool have released their new home shirt, which takes inspiration from 1984, too, while the home shirt Tottenham will don in the upcoming season is also out.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are two of numerous Premier League clubs that have expressed an interest in a 19-goal Ligue 1 forward.

No club is believed to have tabled an official offer, but early reports suggest that the two top-flight teams could face stiff competition if they make further advances to sign the Canada international.

Both the Red Devils and Spurs are seeking reinforcements in their frontline this summer but, due to a relative shortage in the market for that position, any target is likely to be hotly contested between the top clubs.

Sky Sports News have reported that the Premier League pair are just two teams in their league tracking the progress of Lille forward Jonathan David.

The 24-year-old bagged 26 goals and nine assists in 47 appearances in all competitions last season for his current club, before jetting off to join his national side Canada at this summer’s Copa America.

The report later claimed that no formal contact has been made between Lille and any of the interested parties, but that the 48-cap international is on the watchlist for a number of teams.

Despite David’s contract at the Decathlon Arena expiring next summer, Transfermarkt still value him at a considerable £50million.

This news comes as United have also been linked with another striker, Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Their search Rasmus Hojlund’s forward partner continues after Old Trafford mainstay Anthony Martial finally waved goodbye to Manchester at the end of the season, and it appears David is high on the list of potential replacements.

Sky Sports News also reported that the Red Devils have made contact with Les Dogues regarding David’s team-mate, young centre-back Leny Yoro.

Lille president Olivier Letang has confirmed that both players would be allowed to depart the French club this summer.
