Brentford are expecting an offer from Tottenham for forward Yoane Wissa, according to talkSPORT.
The Europa League winners are looking to bolster their attacking options further following deals for Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White, and are now eager to reunite head coach Thomas Frank with his former player.
Brentford are said to be demanding around £40m for Wissa this summer, with the 28-year-old having entered the final year of his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Bees would reportedly be ‘extremely reluctant’ to lose both him and Bryan Mbeumo in the same window – the latter remains a top attacking target for Manchester United.
Tottenham Want to Sign Yoane Wissa
Brentford anticipating an offer for the 28-year-old
Brentford are set to make a serious profit on Wissa this summer if they decide to cash in, having signed the 28-year-old from French side Lorient for just £7.2m in August 2021.
The ‘extraordinary’ Congolese forward is coming off a career-best 2024/25 campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing five assists in 35 Premier League appearances.
He is also believed to have serious suitors at Nottingham Forest, who saw Spurs activate Gibbs-White’s release clause earlier this week.
Forest are understood to have renewed their interest from January and submitted an offer worth less than £25m – considerably lower than Brentford’s valuation.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Wissa has registered 62 goal contributions in 149 appearances for Brentford.
Tottenham have announced Kudus as the first new signing of Frank’s era at the club and are now close to sealing a £60m move for Gibbs-White.
The England international is set to have a medical at Spurs on Friday and follow Anthony Elanga out of Forest, after the Swede agreed to join Newcastle in a deal worth up to £55m this week.
