Description

Tottenham are now set to make a big offer to sign a Liverpool star in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It looks set to be a busy market for Spurs as they look to improve on a dismal few years in the Premier League.

Liverpool have already seen a host of players head through the exit door, with Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate all departing.

Robertson left Liverpool at the end of his contract and has now joined Spurs, but he might not be the only player to make the switch between the two clubs.

Tottenham fans might have been worried that they were unable to attract players due to the lack of European football, but it's been a strong start to the window so far, bringing in Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

Tottenham Preparing Big Offer

According to a report from Caught Offside, Tottenham are now preparing a big offer to sign Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs are expected to make a formal approach soon, with an offer in the region of £60m being readied.

Gakpo's future at Anfield is in doubt after a dip in form, and he has plenty of admirers in the Premier League and around Europe.

Tottenham are not the only club showing an interest in securing his signature, but it appears they are now in pole position to sign him this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Gakpo, described as 'elite', would be keen on a move to Tottenham, especially after they failed to qualify for any European football.

Tottenham Could Struggle to Attract Gakpo

Attracting a player like Gakpo could be difficult for Tottenham, considering he's been so used to playing European football over the last few years.

The Dutch international might not be a regular for Liverpool heading into next season, so a departure wouldn't be a surprise. Despite that, Spurs could still struggle in the race.

A strong World Cup could bring other clubs into the race to secure his signature, so there's a chance Tottenham could look to get ahead in the coming days to beat the competition.

It's still unclear whether Gakpo would be willing to make the move to Tottenham this summer, but his versatility could make him a smart option for Roberto De Zerbi's side.

Tottenham should already be mobilising to snatch one of Chelsea's reported transfer targets this summer. Roberto De Zerbi has a to-do list as big as his arm this summer as he bids to turn a relegation-battling team into one that is capable of fighting for Europe next season.

To their credit, Spurs have made a quick start, snapping up Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, while Savinho looks to be a likely signing from Manchester City. But it's going to take more than three new signings, with this squad needing to be overhauled, while another centre-back is likely needed to fill a gap that will almost certainly be left by Cristian Romero.

Spurs have a big striker need

With Randal Kolo Muani heading back to PSG after an unimpressive loan spell, Spurs have a clear need for at least one new striker, while uncertainty over Richarlison's future could take the number up to two.

Dominic Solanke was a big investment by the club, but he has not been able to stay fit consistently, and his performance level has varied.

With pacey wingers, of which Savinho is another, this team is set up to have a holding striker, and it's likely De Zerbi will stick to that theme, but he also knows he needs something more than what he currently has.

Given the amount of money Spurs are going to have to spend on their squad, it would be wise to consider where they can save a buck or two, and soon-to-be former Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is available for free, at least in terms of a transfer fee. Wages will be a very different matter, given he is currently earning £400,000-a-week.

The Serbian is not a goalscorer, but he certainly can pitch in with goals. What he is is a dominant centre-forward who will win headers, bring the ball down, receive the ball anywhere and bring the midfield and wingers into play. Beyond that, he also has a decent burst of pace for a taller striker, standing at 6ft 3ins.

Speaking when he was still at Fiorentina, Micah Richards said: "I have watched him a couple of times now, he is lightning, it’s ridiculous. His left foot is like a wand. I am telling you now, he is everything, he is everything you need.”

But none of that is the main reason Spurs should be interested.

Vlahovic is a mentality monster

De Zerbi will want to overhaul this dressing room with players with a steel-like mentality, and Vlahovic is that guy.

Obsessed with the next best thing, Juventus quickly fell out of love with Vlahovic when they found out he wasn't a week-in, week-out scorer, something they should have known before spending €80million to sign him.

Despite relentless talk in the Italian media, transfer rumours aplenty and Juventus actively touting him to other clubs last summer, Vlahovic kept his head down and remained a starter. Rather than quitting the club, he saw out the full five years of his contract before collecting his final pay-cheque and walking out through the Allianz Stadium doors.

That drew praise from former Spurs boss Igor Tudor, who labelled him an 'example' for the level of his performance in the wake of all the transfer noise.

We hear all the time of players who crack under such pressure, and we have seen plenty of those players at Tottenham and in the Premier League as a whole. How quickly players can become 'flops' once the media and fans get on top of them for not delivering on a big fee.

Vlahovic shouldered that criticism and got on with his job for three years or more, never losing his place in the meantime. That's the kind of player De Zerbi needs to build this Tottenham dressing room around, and it's why Spurs should be moving quickly to make sure he doesn't end up with London rivals Chelsea.

Tottenham Handed Transfer Lifeline Over 'Sensational' £30m Strike

Description

Tottenham find themselves in need of a new striker this summer, and their search may have just been handed a significant boost. Roberto De Zerbi and the club's recruitment staff have already set about improving the squad this summer, quickly adding Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free deals.

Savinho could be the next domino to fall as Spurs continue to work on a deal to snatch the winger from Manchester City, while talks are ongoing over making the loan of Joao Palhinha a permanent move.

In the background, Spurs will be working on identifying striker targets as they look to replace outgoing loan star Randal Kolo Muani and - potentially - Richarlison.

Spurs land Guirassy boost

One striker who has regularly been linked with Spurs over recent weeks is Borussia Dortmund frontman Serhou Guirassy. The proven goalscorer is considering his options this summer, now 30 years of age, and he may be available for transfer at the right price.

There were reports of an agreement with Fenerbahce, but that is not the case, according to his agent and brother, Karamba Guirassy.

He told Sky Sports Germany: "To clarify: no agreement of any kind has been reached. Serhou is currently evaluating his options for next season. Any claim of a verbal deal is simply not true.”

Tottenham should seize chance to move for Guirassy

Spurs will be well aware of the scarcity of options when it comes to proven strikers this summer, and indeed most summers. There are plenty of strikers who have had a good season here or there, but few who have consistently scored goals like Guirassy.

He is just coming off the back of a 22-goal season with Dortmund, adding to the 34 he scored across all competitions the season prior. During his time at Stuttgart before joining Dortmund, he scored 30 goals in his final season and 14 the season before.

Guirassy is not going to be a long-term option, given he is 30 years of age, but the price will reflect that. he is understood to have a £30million release clause in his contract for select big clubs, although it is unknown whether Spurs would fall into that category. He has the pace and power to succeed at Premier League level, and he can find the net on repeat.

Speaking about the striker's physicality, Dortmund boss Niko Kovac said back in September: “Sensational! As long as his energy held out – he’s in top physical shape, but if you don’t have continuity, you can get cramps after 70 minutes – he made a very, very assured impression: very confident, very strong in the tackle,”

Spurs have had too many strikers who aren't goalscorers, and De Zerbi can fix that and give his front line a truly dangerous edge by snapping up Guirassy this summer.

'Elite' Star to Become One of Tottenham's Highest-Paid Players on 5-Year +1 Contract - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are closing in on a deal to secure an 'elite' star until 2031, with the option of an additional season, and he's set to become one of their highest-paid players.

Although Spurs undoubtedly need reinforcements in the summer transfer window, they also need to try to keep hold of some of their key stars.

Many of them will likely be looking for moves in the coming months after Tottenham fail to qualify for any European football.

The reality is that some will depart, but trying to keep the core group together will be imperative for Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham will be working on new additions ahead of the summer while they are also looking to extend the contracts of some of their current players.

Tottenham Close to Five-Year Deal

According to a report from The Athletic writer Mario Cortegana, Pedro Porro is close to extending his stay with Tottenham until 2031, with the option of a further season.

Porro, described as elite by former manager Thomas Frank, is set to become one of Spurs' highest-paid players.

The Spanish full-back has just two years remaining on his current contract, but he looks set to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Statement Move From Tottenham

Although moves to sign Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers in the summer transfer window make it an excellent start to the window, keeping hold of their best players is just as important, if not more so.

It shows a statement of intent from Spurs to move forward in the right direction rather than just completely overhauling their current squad.

The North London club showed a real resurgence under Roberto De Zerbi, showing that he is capable of working with what he's got.

Keeping key talent at the club, alongside strengthening in certain areas, could help Tottenham head back in the right direction.

Tottenham Make Move to Sign 'Guaranteed Goalscorer'

Tottenham Eye Move To Sign 'Guaranteed Goalscorer' For Just £21.5m - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham might just have set their sights on a new striker as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer. Spurs are on a major recruitment drive, with Roberto De Zerbi and the club's chiefs well aware that big squad changes are required to turn a relegation-battling team into one capable of fighting for Europe.

The board are set to back De Zerbi in the market, and we have already seen evidence of that with the signings of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, while Savinho might just follow on a much pricier deal.

But the business won't end there, with Tottenham still needing to improve a number of areas, including the striker position, which already has a hole.

Tottenham's desperate need for a striker

Spurs are already a striker short, given Randal Kolo Muani is headed back to PSG after a disappointing loan spell. There is uncertainty over Richarlison's future, and whether the Brazilian stays or goes will condition whether De Zerbi ends up needing one or two new frontmen this summer.

There are also justified questions over Dominic Solanke's long-term future at the club given his injury issues and lack of goalscoring form, but the Englishman will be safe for the coming season, with Spurs likely highly reluctant to find themselves in a position where they need to sign three new frontmen.

Asllani emerges as option

One of the latest strikers linked with a Spurs switch is Hoffenheim's up-and-coming frontman Fisnik Asllani. The 23-year-old scored 11 goals across all competitions in the season just gone, including 10 Bundesliga goals.

According to SportsBoom, Spurs have joined Ipswich Town, RB Leipzig and Barcelona in expressing an interest in the forward. Although, the Tractor Boys could drop out given their recruitment will likely be altered by the surprise exit of Kieran McKenna.

Asllani is a 6ft 3ins striker who is more of the hold-up mould, which does suit Tottenham's current style of play, though he is clearly capable of finding the net given his solid return in Bundesliga this season.

Hoffenheim managing director Andreas Schicker said of the striker last season: "Fisnik is a highly talented striker who more than just hinted at his potential during his loan spell. His goals and assists speak for themselves. We’re absolutely convinced that he will take the next steps in his career with us and that he will bring us all a great deal of joy in the future.”

His former youth coach at Union Berlin, Andre Hofschneider, said: "He's a guaranteed goal scorer. He always makes things look so easy. He knows how football works."

Hoffenheim have the forward under contract until 2029 as things stand, and a reported asking price of between £21.5million and £26million has been floated this summer.

As far as Spurs are concerned, it's not likely Asllani would be signed as the starting striker, but he could form part of the striker's department as he continues to develop, with De Zerbi likely to carry three options up top into the coming season.

Fresh Twist In Luka Vuskovic Tottenham Transfer Saga

Luka Vuskovic Tottenham Transfer Exit Takes Fresh Twist As £40m Problem Emerges - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham and Brighton & Hove Albion may be locked in talks over the next few days and weeks for two big transfer deals.

Spurs made the first move, going to Brighton with a first and the subsequent second bid to sign 26-year-old centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke.

The Lilywhites are expected to return with a third bid for the Dutch international, after those two initial offers were rejected by the Seagulls.

Van Hecke only has one year left on his contract at the Amex Stadium and is understood to favour a move to Spurs to link up once again with his former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Brighton test Tottenham's will with £30m move

A departure for van Hecke would leave Brighton with a big hole to fill in their defence, so they have seized their opportunity and while speaking to Spurs about one transfer, have tried their luck with a move of their own.

News emerged on Friday that the Seagulls had launched a £30milllion bid to sign highly-rated Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic.

The 19-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Spurs first team, having spent this past season on loan with Hamburg in the Bundesliga, where he has been making waves, winning the young player of the season award.

Vuskovic has a contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2030 and if he does leave is unlikely to be allowed to go on the cheap.

football.london Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold said this week: "Everyone I've spoken to said Vuskovic has got a way higher ceiling than van Hecke. Van Hecke is a very good Premier League player, but Vuskovic can be, in the words of Thomas Frank, a top, top, top player in world football, and I know there's some suggestions that Spurs maybe would accept a bid for him this summer. That would be insane! That would be absolutely insane!"

As mentioned above, it is probably a case of Brighton trying their luck with a cheeky bid for one of the most promising defenders in world football, but there are plenty of reports that Vuskovic is keen on the move, seeing playing under Fabian Hurzeler as good for his development.

Spurs cannot just let Vuskovic leave

But if Tottenham are to let him go, it should either be on loan or for a ridiculously high fee with a buy-back option written into the deal.

That is what has been reported by Teamtalk in a fresh twist on the player's future. Their report states that "Vuskovic’s representatives have floated the possibility of including a buy-back clause in any agreement. Such a provision has not been agreed and would still depend on future discussions with the player, but it is understood to be an option Tottenham would consider if they ultimately decide to part ways with one of the brightest young defenders in Europe".

Brighton are understood to be demanding close to £70million for the sale of van Hecke - an experienced Premier League player, but one that only has one year left on his contract. Meanwhile they value a 19-year-old, with a four-year contract and the ceiling to reach even greater heights than the Dutchman at only £30million.

There is a £40million gap there that needs to be eroded if the two clubs are to come to any kind of agreement over the two plauyers moving in opposite directions this summer.

Verbal Agreement Reached: Tottenham Star Ready to Leave Club

Verbal Agreement Reached: Tottenham Star Ready to Leave Club - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham's transfer business may have taken a twist this summer, as Florian Plettenberg reports that Luka Vuskovic has agreed terms over a potential exit from the club.

The Croatian international returns to Spurs this summer following a loan spell at Hamburg, where he continued to move from strength to strength in the early phases of his career.

Vuskovic was signed as a promising centre-back when he broke through at Hadjuk Split, making his senior debut at the age of just 15 as an initial signal of his talent.

In the years since, he has enjoyed several successful loan spells, with his return to Tottenham coming at a point where he seems ready for even more game time.

However, with doubts over the potential to do that with the North London club, it appears as though a possible exit could be on the cards for the centre-back.

Luka Vuskovic Agrees Brighton Deal

As Tottenham try and transform their defensive ranks, Florian Plettenberg reports that Vuskovic could leave after agreeing personal terms with Brighton over a move.

The Seagulls recently made a £30 million bid to Spurs for the 19-year-old centre-back, as talks continue over Jan Paul van Hecke moving in the other direction this summer.

It's claimed that Vuskovic has already held talks with Brighton and their head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, to get an idea of what his place in the team and his progression may be like, if he joins the club.

While that agreement is in place, a deal may be tough to do as Tottenham don't intend on letting the youngster go any time soon, while other clubs are also circling a move.

That's not to say that Spurs may not also find their own challenges in trying to keep the star, as the transfer saga looks set to continue in the background.

Tottenham May Regret Vuskovic Exit

Tottenham face a clear battle on their hands to keep hold of Vuskovic this summer, as the defender looks for more guarantees over his playing time and development.

That is looking increasingly difficult, as Spurs may have backed themselves into a corner with the additions of Marcos Senesi and Van Hecke in the backline.

Adding that duo to an already strong squad of Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin, and Kevin Danso makes it tough to see where the opportunities will be for the Croatian international.

Even with some sales, the strength in depth is there to limit his chances. While another loan could be on the cards, there may be a desire to grow at a club in a permanent capacity.

Tottenham could end up regretting a sale for Vuskovic, which may be why they are intent on keeping the star. But whether that is in their control is unclear at this stage.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Agree Four-Year Deal With £60m Star De Zerbi Loves

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Agree Four-Year Deal With £60m Star De Zerbi Loves - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a huge boost as Fabrizio Romano reports that Pedro Porro has agreed the terms of a new contract with the club, amid links with a potential exit.

It comes as the Lilywhites are looking to secure the long-term future of their defence, having already announced the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson this summer.

Beyond them, there are talks to sign Jan Paul van Hecke, while exits are expected for Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin in the coming weeks of the market.

As Tottenham continue to address how the squad is built, a new contract is set to be on the table for Porro, coming as the latest boost for Roberto De Zerbi.

Pedro Porro New Contract

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are closing in on a new contract for Porro, as the Spanish star is set to extend his stay with the club until 2030.

Spurs signed the 26-year-old right-back in 2023, paying £39 million to land him from Sporting CP. Porro has made over 150 appearances for the club since, proving his quality in his defending, but also in the attacking areas with his crossing and set-piece ability.

Following a difficult campaign, and with only two years left on his contract, recent reports have linked the defender with a return to Manchester City, with a £60 million valuation set on the star.

However, the new contract extension is set to thwart any threat of an exit for Porro, with Romano claiming that he is viewed as "untouchable" by De Zerbi since his arrival at the club.

It's a move that helps secure the backline even further for Tottenham moving forward, while they continue to make changes with the aim of strengthening the team.

With Porro's deal sorted, attention may have to turn to other players in the squad who need a new contract.

Tottenham Contract Priority

Porro's contract extension is a huge boost for Tottenham, as they look at the options they have within the squad and where they will build next.

Beyond him, Richarlison, Dane Scarlett and Ben Davies are into the final year of their contracts, though the trio may not be in line for a fresh deal.

Jumping ahead to 2028, there are contract expirations for James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, and Ashley Phillips.

All of those options may be considered for new deals, but that may have to be closer to the time, especially with the former two battling against injury issues.

As it stands, Tottenham are in a good position with their contracts, and may push more of their focus towards signings in the coming weeks.

Tottenham Open Talks to Sign French Defender After Luka Vuskovic Bid

Tottenham Open Talks to Sign French Defender After Luka Vuskovic Bid - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham are considering their options in the defensive line once again, as Sportsboom reports that a young centre-back is on the club's radar this summer.

The Spurs backline is the area where the most change is expected, with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi already making their move to the Lilywhites, while Jan Paul van Hecke is edging closer towards a deal, joining from Brighton.

As a result, an exit is expected for club captain Cristian Romero, while Radu Dragusin could follow him in a transfer away from the club in the coming weeks.

Then there are doubts over the future of Luka Vuskovic, as Brighton have made an offer to sign the young defender as he searches for some assurances over his game time when he returns to Tottenham from his loan with Hamburg.

While a potential exit for the 19-year-old may be on the cards, recent links have suggested that Roberto De Zerbi is keen on another defender to join the North London club.

Tottenham Want Ismaelo Ganiou

As Tottenham face the prospect of losing Vuskovic, they could replace him with another wonderkid centre-back, as Sportsboom claims RC Lens youngster Ismaelo Ganiou is on their radar this summer.

The France youth international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for his side last campaign, making 23 appearances in Ligue Un, putting in some "very impressive" performances in the process.

The report claims that Spurs are joined by Crystal Palace and Paris Saint-Germain in their admiration of Ganiou, with all three beginning talks with Lens to discover the terms of a possible deal.

A valuation in the range of €35-40 million (£30.2-34.5 million) has been set, with his current contract set to enter the final two years this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham would be willing to enter the market at that price, but the report claims that it is well within the club's financial means.

Tottenham's Long-Term Plan

Part of Tottenham's rebuild has already begun with the acquisition of young talent that will have a high ceiling, but may take time to reach that level.

There has always been a long-term view to the squad building, but more recent focus has switched to adding experience and quality for the here and now.

Even with that change in approach, there must be some future-proofing in place, and that means having youngsters in position who could become first-team regulars.

Vuskovic fits into that category, but his rapid rise may have come at a difficult time for Tottenham to promise the game time that he will be wanting.

As a result, his exit may make sense for all parties, but there must still be a long-term view to the centre-back positions, making the Ganiou interest entirely possible.

It remains to be seen whether things could change, or if Vuskovic will be shown a clear plan moving forward that could keep him for the foreseeable future.

Tottenham Want to Sign £69m World Cup Star After Savinho and Van Hecke

Tottenham Want to Sign £69m World Cup Star After Savinho and Van Hecke - GiveMeSport
Description

The summer transfer window isn't even officially open yet, but Tottenham have not wasted any time in trying to land a few key players for the squad rebuild.

Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi are already through the door for Spurs, while progress is being made over deals to sign Savinho and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Some exits may need to follow to help balance out the remainder of the squad, but that still doesn't seem set to stop Tottenham from giving Roberto De Zerbi the tools to progress in the right direction for next season.

Even with so many defenders at his disposal, another versatile option could be on their way to North London this summer, as interest ramps up over one star heading to the World Cup.

Maxi Araujo Linked With Tottenham

According to reports from Portuguese outlet Record, via Sport Witness, Tottenham are showing a keen interest in Sporting CP star Maxi Araujo.

The 26-year-old is a versatile option, capable of playing at both left-back and left-wing for the Portuguese outfit, providing a handful of goals and assists along the way.

It's claimed that Spurs are joined by Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to land Araujo, while La Liga side Atletico Madrid have also been monitoring a potential deal.

Any move is unlikely to come cheap, as Sporting CP are wanting close to the defender's £69 million release clause to allow for any talks of an exit.

It's stated that the club are willing to prepare improved terms on his contract, which currently runs until 2029, but it may take some time to get to those possible discussions.

Sporting are only likely to assess Araujo's position after the World Cup, where he is set to feature for Uruguay in group games against Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde.

Beyond that point, Tottenham and their rivals may get a clearer picture of the availability of the 26-year-old this summer.

Tottenham's Left-Back Balance

A move for Araujo may seem slightly unlikely at Tottenham, mainly due to the depth they already have in his primary left-back position.

Robertson's arrival strengthens that position, which is backed up by Destiny Udogie when he is available, Ben Davies following his contract extension, and Djed Spence when switching to that side.

Throw January signing Souza into the mix, and that makes for five players already taking up that one position, albeit with some versatility in there.

That may need addressing in the window, even before considering further signings, as Souza seems the most likely candidate to leave on loan.

It remains to be seen what De Zerbi will do with the strength in depth, considering the lack of European football for next season, but there may be an opportunity to mix and match his teams more.
