Tottenham Hotspur have received a formal bid from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama for striker Richarlison, according to AVascainos.
The Lilywhites have had a disappointing start to the Premier League season, failing to score a goal in any of their opening three games and picking up just one point after defeats against Brentford and Newcastle, before a draw with Nottingham Forest last time out.
But despite the lack of goals in the side so far, and the big money spent on bringing in forwards Omar Marmoush, Savio, with Mykhailo Mudryk also arriving on loan, there is no space in the team for Richarlison after a summer of speculation.
The former Everton star asked to leave the club during the transfer window but failed to find an agreement with a number of clubs, including the Toffees, as he released a statement claiming that he refused to join a club if the decision wasn't his own.
Since then, the striker has now been left out of the club's 25-man Premier League squad for the season, and GIVEMESPORT sources understand that he has spoken to FIFA about getting the final year of his contract with the north London club terminated in order to move outside of the transfer window.
But with a decision not yet made, Spurs are currently demanding a transfer fee to allow him to return to Brazil, and it's now reported by the AVascainos podcast that Vasco da Gama have tabled a formal offer for his signature.
Vasco have tabled an offer worth €20m (£17m) including add-ons, and they are confident that Tottenham will be willing to accept the bid to get the player out the exit door.
The Brazilian side are also offering the 30-year-old striker a salary worth around £10,000-a-week, a huge pay-cut from his current deal at Spurs. The final decision on whether a transfer will happen is understood to be down to the player, with both clubs happy that an agreement on terms between them is close.
Richarlison Made His Own Bed
Despite Spurs' struggles in front of goal, there is little sympathy for the situation involving Richarlison after how a transfer away in the summer eventually played out.
The player asked to leave during pre-season, and while he knuckled down and played in the opening game of the campaign, he made the club's life more difficult by not agreeing to leave when he had the chance.
Speaking after the English transfer window closed, De Zerbi addressed the decision to leave him out of the Premier League squad after he failed to secure a move away, stating that while it wasn't his decision, the striker essentially made his own bed with his actions.
"It was not my decision. It is the normal decision," said the Italian boss.
"I think Richarlison, he decided everything alone. He spoke with me at the beginning of the pre-season and told me his idea and desire was to leave.
"At the end, we go to bring another striker [in] and like I said at the beginning of the pre-season, I want to keep the players, just the players that want to stay and be proud and with the right passion to stay here.
"Then, for everything and other problems, it is not my business and not my job. It is the responsibility of the club.
"I can't say nothing, because I didn't decide anything. The message of Richarlison from the beginning of the season has been very clear. I accepted that and for me [there is] nothing [to say]."
