Leeds United may still be able to bring a fan favourite back to the club, despite spending a huge amount of money so far in the summer transfer window, according to reports - with Manor Solomon having a 'very good chance' of returning to Elland Road in the remainder of the summer transfer window.
Solomon, employed by Tottenham Hotspur, only made five Premier League appearances for Spurs in the 2023/24 campaign, struggling to find his way into the first-team under Ange Postecoglou, and that resulted in a loan move to Leeds last season, helping them win the Championship title and reaching 100 points with a last-minute winner against Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the season.
Bailey: Leeds Have 'Very Good Chance' to Bring Solomon in
The Whites are still needing a winger and Solomon could be the man
With Spurs having Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore all capable of playing in the left-wing role, Solomon may struggle for minutes in north London - and with Leeds now in the Premier League, the 'unplayable' star has a golden opportunity to return to west Yorkshire in the remainder of the transfer window.
And, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Daniel Farke's men 'still really like' the Israeli winger, and a deal could be done once he realises that he's not first-choice at Spurs once the first few games of the season are underway. He told TBR Football:
"Leeds still really like Manor Solomon.
“I think there’s a very good chance after a couple of games once we get into the start of the season and Solomon sees he’s not first choice at Spurs and involved — I think we could see him at Leeds.
“Leeds still like him an awful lot, I think there’s a very good chance Solomon still ends up at Elland Road.
“For the sake of Leeds going for their second choice, they may as well hang on. They wanted Solomon and he’s not going to be particularly expensive. So I think he is in their minds.”
Solomon was linked with a move to Leeds earlier in the window, for a fee of around £15million.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Manor Solomon has seven goals in 44 caps for Israel.
So far, they've signed Jake Bijol, Sebastian Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach, with a move for Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri also imminently on the cards. Those incomings have proven to be an outlay of around £75million, and there may still be money left to bring the Israeli in alongside supposed target Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.
