The former England captain has had his say on the current situation at Tottenham Hotspur as they face a big game at home against Coventry
Alan Shearer believes Tottenham will be in a "massive relegation battle" if they fail to beat Coventry at home on Monday night.
Spurs rescued a point at Manchester United on Saturday with a 92nd minute Dominic Solanke goal to give them a boost after a tough start to the Premier League season, even if they should have won the match at Old Trafford before that with the chances they created.
Roberto De Zerbi has since taken his players on a warm-weather training camp to Marbella this week to ensure they bond closer together after a summer with 10 new arrivals through the doors. When they return Spurs will face Frank Lampard's in-form Coventry side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night, looking to put their home form in N17 behind them.
Former England and Newcastle star Shearer believes it's a huge game that could have major consequences for the north London side if they fail to claim their first Premier League win of the campaign.
"I think there was definitely optimism in the performance against Man United. They missed some big chances, Solanke scored one, but he missed three or four big chances, as did others, and I think when you look at the performance overall, I thought it was much improved, much more energy and much more structure to it," the pundit said in conjunction with Betfair.

"I've always said the time to worry is when you're not creating the chances and that wasn't the case at Old Trafford. They created plenty. So, if that was to keep on going, they could have a little bit of hope, but they desperately need that win.
"I know they did really well when down to 10 men, coming back and getting a Solanke goal. So, that in itself will give them a bit of confidence, but they need a win massively.
"If they don't beat Coventry on Monday, then I think they'll be in a massive relegation battle, and I think that's how big a game it is."
