Former Tottenham Hotspur owner Alan Sugar has urged the Lewis family to go and hire former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp left Liverpool back in 2024, announcing that he would be departing at the end of the 2023/2024 campaign. The German coach is yet to take on another managerial role after leaving Liverpool, and is instead working with Red Bull as their Head of Global Football.
Klopp doesn't appear keen to take on another managerial role, considering he's opted for more of a behind-the-scenes position since departing Anfield. Sugar, having previously owned Tottenham, knows the footballing world inside out, and it's certainly an interesting request for the club to make a move for Klopp at this stage of his career.
Alan Sugar: Tottenham Must Hire Jurgen Klopp
Speaking on X, former Tottenham owner Sugar has urged the Lewis family to go and hire Klopp in January. Sugar has claimed that it would be a win-win situation, and with their 'massive fortune' they can bring in the Premier League title-winner while backing him in the January transfer window.
Whether Tottenham could convince Klopp to make a return to management remains to be seen, but it feels unlikely that he'd take on the Spurs job. It would undoubtedly have to be a phenomenal project for Klopp to return to Premier League action, and Tottenham are in a difficult spot at the moment.
Tottenham Fans React to Jurgen Klopp Suggestion
Fans online spotted the suggestion but were far from impressed with the idea.
One wrote: "There's delusions. There's mega delusions. Then there's this." Another added: "There is no way in a million years that he will come back to England and manage Spurs."
A third said: "Got more chance of signing Mbappe probably than Klopp coming." A final fan summed up the mood, asking: "Is this actually serious?"
Plenty of Spurs supporters seem to share the view that it's a fairly pointless discussion, as it's going to be near-on impossible to convince Klopp to make the move to north London. The pressure is seriously mounting on Thomas Frank at Tottenham, but the appointment of Klopp might be a little out of reach.
