Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to make a decision on whether they will keep Ange Postecoglou at the club heading into the new season, according to Football London writer Alasdair Gold.
It was looking like a disastrous season for Tottenham, with the north London club finishing in 17th position in the Premier League. A Europa League final was an opportunity to save their campaign, and Spurs managed to beat Manchester United to lift the trophy.
Whether that was enough to save Postecoglou's job remains to be seen, but there's no doubt it was a phenomenal achievement for a club who have struggled to win silverware in recent years. Spurs have a crucial decision to make after such a strange season considering their Premier League struggles alongside lifting a trophy.
He could remain in charge
Reporting for Football London, reliable journalist Gold has confirmed that Tottenham are unlikely to make a decision on Postecoglou this week, with the Australian manager and his staff heading on their post-season holidays. Gold adds that there is a chance that Postecoglou could remain in charge for the 2025/2026 campaign after ending Tottenham's trophy drought.
GIVEMESPORT sources also confirmed on Monday that Tottenham were unlikely to make a decision before Postecoglou jetted off on his holidays this week. It's understood that Brentford manager Thomas Frank is emerging as a contender for the job if Daniel Levy opts to sack Postecoglou, with Marco Silva publicly stating that he wouldn't be leaving Fulham.
It will be interesting to see the decision Levy opts to make over the coming weeks, and there's no doubt it could become a controversial one. Some fans will understandably want to get rid of him due to their catastrophic form in the Premier League, while others won't be able to ignore the fact that he delivered a trophy to the club after a long drought without silverware.
