Tottenham are in the market to sign a new winger in the summer transfer window as they look to continue improving Roberto De Zerbi's squad.

So far in the summer transfer window, Tottenham have heavily focused their recruitment on improving their midfield and defence.

At the back, Tottenham have brought in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan-Paul Van Hecke to improve their defensive options.

In the middle of the park, Tottenham have added Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, signing in big-money moves from Newcastle and West Ham respectively.

For the rest of the transfer window, attention could now turn to improving their forward line, with their defence and midfield seemingly sorted.

Tottenham in race for new winger

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham are in the race to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are also in the race to secure his signature, and the Red Devils are aware that they may need to move quickly to beat Spurs in the race.

Tottenham have already beaten United in a race for a signing this summer, winning the battle to sign Portuguese midfielder Fernandes.

It is unclear where Summerville, who has been described as 'elite', could end up in the summer transfer window, with both Tottenham and United keen, but there is no doubt he is likely to leave.

The Hammers were relegated from the Premier League last season, and the Dutch international will be looking for a move back to the top league.

Tottenham also eyeing another forward

Summerville isn't the only forward that Tottenham are showing an interest in during the summer transfer window.

According to reports, Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi is another target for Spurs, with the Cherries demanding in the region of £80m for him to depart.

Tottenham shouldn't need to make any more additions in defence or midfield, giving them the rest of the transfer window to heavily focus on signing new forwards.

Spurs have had a huge head start in the summer transfer window, securing six deals already, so they are already well prepared for the start of the new season.
