Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a hot topic of discussion among fans across the country and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has now joined in.

Three points were sealed by Everton at the weekend in their game against Marco Silva’s Fulham on the docks.

Everton News understands that Silva is under pressure at Fulham following the loss and Brendan Rodgers is being considered as an option.

With pressure being eased off David Moyes, there is mounting pressure on the local authorities to fix the transport links to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The new home of the Blues was rocking on Saturday, with the players putting on a performance the fans could really get behind.

Fulham fans loved the Hill Dickinson Stadium and there is something about it that Burnham thinks separates it from the likes of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Even Moyes was wowed by the Hill Dickinson Stadium atmosphere at the weekend in the game against the Cottagers.

And that is a big part of what makes Burnham believe the new home of the Blues is far superior to its competitors.

Speaking to Everton News columnist Alan Myers on The Added Time Podcast, Burnham admitted he thinks the Hill Dickinson is better than Tottenham’s ground.

“I think Hill Dickinson is the first of a new generation of modern stadium, even more so than Spurs, I think, because that kind of noise factor is there, isn’t it?” Burnham told Myers.

“You know, the kind of soullessness of some of the modern stadia, I think, has sort of regenerated, but not in a way that, you know, look at West Ham fans, I think they’re feeling, you know, I think they felt pretty envious, didn’t they, when they came to Hill Dickinson recently.”

Everton fans were frustrated with the public transport at the new stadium once again at the weekend, with fans waiting hours to leave the docks.

However, the experience on offer inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium is something that is certainly living up to expectations.

Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium could get even louder

Steve Parish hailed the Hill Dickinson Stadium for surpassing his expectations having loved what Goodison Park offered.

The atmosphere at the weekend was fantastic and epitomised what the new stadium was built for.

But it could get even louder as Everton consider expanding the Hill Dickinson Stadium to around 62,000.

Burnham’s comments will not go down well with some in the media, though.

Jamie O’Hara slammed Everton’s stadium as a copy of Tottenham’s, with some really harsh criticism thrown the way of the Blues.

“Have you seen Everton’s Stadium? Have you seen inside it? It looks like a toy Spurs stadium,” said the 39-year-old.

Regardless of O’Hara’s opinion, Tottenham could only wish to replicate the form Everton have shown in front of their own fans this season.
