Everton are going to face competition from their Premier League rivals in the final weeks of this summer’s transfer window.

A lot of work is still needed at Everton to get the squad up to scratch for the 2025/26 curtain raiser against Leeds United.

David Moyes will be hoping to see some attacking players walk through the doors at Finch Farm over the coming weeks.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set to complete his move to Everton, but there will now be a real emphasis on adding some goals to the squad.

The Summer Series in the United States only highlighted Moyes’ concerns with just two goals scored in three games by Everton players.

To combat this, Everton are stepping up their interest in Jack Grealish after hitting a major roadblock with Tyler Dibling.

Everton are not the only side in the race to sign the 29-year-old on loan this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in Grealish, with the Lilywhites expected to make a push at some point this window.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to journalist Ben Knapton, Spurs have now made first contact with Grealish over a potential move this summer.

This comes on the back of James Maddison picking up a suspected season-ending injury during pre-season in South Korea.

Tottenham are now also in desperate need of some creative players to add to their team, and they could be looking to beat Everton to the former England international.

And the report claims Spurs have now taken the lead in the race.

Grealish’s future was expected to go down to the wire, but developments at both Everton and Spurs over recent days may have just changed that.

Pep Guardiola no longer has the forward in his plans, but the 29-year-old is looking to map out the best possible move for himself this summer.

What Everton can offer Grealish that Tottenham can’t

Ultimately, Spurs are able to offer Grealish with Champions League, which Everton will not be able to compete with.

However, Everton do have plenty to offer Grealish.

It is believed that Grealish is happy living in the north west, which is something he would not have to change if he joined Everton.

The 29-year-old would be able to remain in his current address and travel to Merseyside from the Manchester area.

And it is also believed that Jordan Pickford could help convince Grealish to join Everton.

Of course, Spurs will likely appeal given their European offering, but do not count Everton out of this race.

Description

Everton are one of the clubs plotting a summer move for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

The former England winger faces a pivotal summer as he aims to make a return to the national squad ahead of the World Cup next year.

David Moyes will now be keen to see Everton bring in some additional attacking signings on the back of Thierno Barry’s arrival earlier this month.

Ever since he returned to the club in January, Moyes has demanded a new winger to be signed by the Friedkins.

The Toffees have two games remaining in the United States before they head home for the very final preparations of the summer.

Everton have shown strong interest in Grealish, but they now face potential competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton set for Tottenham competition over Jack Grealish

It is now expected that Moyes will try and convince Grealish to join Everton this summer in what would be a major coup for the club.

The 29-year-old’s time at the Etihad Stadium appears to be over with Pep Guardiola leaving him out of their Club World Cup squad.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to Dean Jones, Everton are the club who are currently pushing the hardest to land Grealish from City.

It is even suggested the winger is open to the prospect of moving to Merseyside, but he is also keen to make sure that is the best possible move on the table.

With Everton pushing, there is an expectation that Tottenham Hotspur could make a late arrival to the proceedings.

Ironically, on Tuesday, Neil Warnock urged Tottenham to move for Grealish as he feels that move would suit him down to the ground.

Of course, Spurs could offer Champions League football, but there are still plenty of positives that could lure the 29-year-old to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Grealish is a fight worth battling for

Everton are also awaiting Malick Fofana’s decision, with the Belgian winger also keen to make a move to a Champions League club.

Clearly, Everton are finding it tough to land some of their top targets this summer.

But a player like Grealish would certainly be worth the efforts.

The Friedkins are keen to land a statement signing for the move into the new stadium over the coming weeks.

Grealish would certainly land in that category, and his addition would be a real statement of intent from the owners.

Everton are pushing to win the race to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City.

David Moyes has one eye on transfers and one eye on the pre-season preparations in the United States.

Only two new faces have come through the doors so far at Everton, and there will be a desire to provide Thierno Barry with some creativity around him.

Everton’s focus is on signing attacking players over the final weeks of the transfer window.

And one of the players believed to be on the radar is the Manchester City outcast, Jack Grealish.

There is a belief Everton will look to sign Grealish on loan, unless the 29-year-old dramatically lowers his salary demands.

With Everton keen to make a deal work, former manager Neil Warnock has shared what he feels would be the perfect move for the winger.

Neil Warnock urges Jack Grealish to snub Everton for Tottenham

It seems Grealish’s time at the Etihad Stadium is now coming to an end this summer after being left out of their Club World Cup squad.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

Moyes is expected to try and convince Grealish to join Everton, with the Toffees able to guarantee him regular football.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, former manager Neil Warnock has now told Grealish he should be joining a club like Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite their struggles last season, Spurs would be able to offer the 29-year-old Champions League football for this season.

“Is he not more of a Tottenham Hotspur player?” said Warnock after hearing Everton were keen.

“I think Tottenham Hotspur would suit him down to the ground. I’m surprised they’ve not come in for him really.”

However, Everton may have an advantage in the race for Grealish as he is believed to be happy living in the north west of England.

The Toffees would secure themselves a real coup if they could land Grealish, but it certainly isn’t going to be a straightforward deal.

Everton are one possibility for Grealish

Competing against the likes of Spurs, Everton hope their new stadium will attract Grealish among other players.

If a club offering Champions League football do enter the mix, then it could prove difficult for Everton to win the race.

It is believed Grealish is prioritising European football if there are offers on the table.

But the Toffees are pushing to try and secure what would certainly be a statement signing for the Friedkins.

Warnock may have urged Grealish to join Spurs, and Rio Ferdinand has already urged Grealish to move to Saudi Arabia.

This is certainly a transfer race where Everton will be up against it.

Unexpected £55m Richarlison development shared as Everton put on red alert - everton.news
Description

Everton’s pre-season is now officially underway following their 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

David Moyes will have been pleased to finally get some minutes under his players’ belts, despite the result not being what they wanted.

But pre-season is not about the results, and Everton are still awaiting new faces to land on Merseyside for the remaining pre-season games.

With Thierno Barry and Mark Travers signed, Moyes is pushing for more Everton signings to be made.

Everton are prioritising attacking signings this summer having seen the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave as a free agent.

One player who Everton will be aware of this summer is Richarlison, and it seems there could be movement on his future.

Everton must act as Palmeiras make Richarlison approach

Heading into the summer, Everton were keen to monitor Richarlison’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur.

With Thomas Frank heading in as the new manager, the Brazilian’s future was certainly up in the air.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

And according to Terra, Palmeiras are now ready to launch a huge £55m move for Richarlison this summer.

Considering the injury issues Richarlison has endured, for Spurs to potentially get anywhere near the £60m back they paid for him would be a huge boost.

Richarlison has suggested he wants to stay at Tottenham, but if the Lilywhites are offered £55m for the Brazilian then it is hard to imagine them saying no,

It is a significant amount of money, and something which Everton would not be willing to compete with.

Everton have around £100m to spend this summer, and using more than half of that on one player would not make sense.

It may have been a potential fairytale return for some Everton fans, but this latest development may just confirm he will not be returning to Merseyside.

Everton still need attacking additions

The friendly against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night only highlighted the need for more signings this summer.

Barry remains on his summer break, which meant there was no real changes to the options Moyes had at hand.

Of course, it is still early in the summer, but the 62-year-old will want to see new signings land before the club jets off for the Summer Series.

Why Tottenham Hotspur signing Morgan Gibbs-White is bad news for Everton

Why Tottenham Hotspur signing Morgan Gibbs-White is bad news for Everton - everton.news
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest.

Telegraph reporter John Percy has revealed that Spurs are willing to activate Gibbs-White’s £60m release clause.

So, that will force Nottingham Forest into the market for a replacement and they have been doing their due diligence on a number of potential successors.

From an Everton perspective, this impending transfer isn’t great news at all, as it means they’re about to face serious competition for a playmaker they’re already in talks to sign.

Nottingham Forest expected to turn to Everton target James McAtee to replace Morgan Gibbs-White

Everton are in talks to sign James McAtee from Manchester City, and Pep Guardiola is willing to sanction his sale for around £25m.

David Moyes wants to add more creativity to his side and has clearly earmarked McAtee as his preferred target.

However, Nottingham Forest are now expected to join the race for McAtee as they search for a Gibbs-White replacement.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

When Gibbs-White was being mooted to join City earlier in the window, it emerged that McAtee was viewed as his successor.

So, unfortunately for Moyes and his chiefs, their main target will likely be subjected to an approach from the Forest, who can boast European football.

Everton will have to have a strong pitch to convince McAtee to join

Indeed, Everton can’t match what Forest can offer in European football, with it looking likely to be the Europa League if Crystal Palace are demoted due to muliti-club ownership issues.

However, the new state-of-the-art 52,000-seater stadium paired with the Friedkin Group’s lofty ambitions is certainly a temping project to be part of.

Plus, McAtee is actually the great nephew of Alan Ball, who is an Everton legend, so that connection may be a convincing factor.

Thierno Barry’s arrival from Villarreal already shows great ambition and Everton are also looking at Douglas Luiz, so McAtee may favour a move to Merseyside.

A telling month awaits.

Description

Everton have already been hit with a number of upsets in this summer’s transfer window.

David Moyes will not be looking for any excuses now as he will want to see new faces land on Merseyside ahead of pre-season.

Fortunately, it looks as if Everton are set to sign Thierno Barry from Villarreal, with the deal progressing well over recent days.

But that is just one of many positions that are going to need addressing over the coming weeks at Everton.

Moyes has been keen to sign a new full-back ever since he returned to Everton in January, and there have been a number of players of interest already.

It now looks as if Everton could be about to land another signing this summer, and they’ll be beating some stern competition to his signature.

Everton set to beat Tottenham Hotspur to Wesley Franca

Everton were snubbed by Kenny Tete, who decided to stay with Fulham despite having a solid offer on the table from the Blues.

It has not taken Angus Kinnear long to find an alternative option, though.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton are working on a £26m deal to sign Wesley Franca from Flamengo.

The Brazilian has received interest already from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, but it is the Toffees who are making progress on a potential deal.

There is one twist, however, as Everton could initially send Franca off to AS Roma for a season-long loan deal if they do land him.

Everton lost Ashley Young this summer as a free agent and are in need of some extra quality being added at full-back.

So, it is slightly strange to hear of the initial plans being put in place for Franca to not actually play for Everton until 2026/27.

Everton need another right-back signing

As things stand, Everton will be going into the new campaign with Jake O’Brien as their starting right-back.

Many fans will be fine with that as O’Brien really impressed for Everton under Moyes after being given an opportunity.

The Ireland international does have his attacking limitations, but it is the options supporting him which will be of concern.

Although Franca is only 21-years-old and has a bright future ahead of him, Moyes and the Everton fans will surely want to signings made for the present.

Troy Deeney sends a major warning to Everton after what he's noticed about Richarlison this summer - everton.news
Description

Everton could offer Richarlison a sensational return to Merseyside this summer.

The Friedkin Group want to make a statement signing for Everton, and Richarlison is viewed as a player who could excite the fans.

David Moyes will be keen to see attacking reinforcements brought through the door ahead of the return to Finch Farm next month.

Some exciting months lie ahead of Everton as the club undergoes a big transformation both on and off the pitch.

But the off-the-field changes, like the appointment of Angus Kinnear, will be judged on the new signings that come through the door.

Everton would like to re-sign Richarlison as he is at risk of being moved on at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Troy Deeney has now issued the Toffees a major warning after something he’s spotted about the Brazilian.

Troy Deeney warns Everton over signing Richarlison

It has recently been suggested that Tottenham would approve Richarlison’s exit, with strong interest coming from Galatasaray.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

The Brazil international has now returned to the national squad having earned himself a Europa League winners medal with Spurs.

Speaking on The Fellas podcast, Deeney has admitted he doesn’t like what he’s seen from Richarlison of late.

“I think a little bit of the Richarlison we had [at Watford] has died with the money, which is fine. It’s complacency, we all get like that,” he said.

“He was unbelievable, goes to Everton and did well, but went to Spurs and suffered injuries and little bits like the tattoos…”

Despite Deeney’s comments, Richarlison has admitted he needs to improve this summer after his struggles through injury.

But the 27-year-old did play a key role in Tottenham’s Europa League final, having started the game in place of club captain Heung-min Son.

Richarlison needs an injury-free 2025/26 campaign

The comments from Deeney do come across slightly odd considering Richarlison has looked fairly bright for Tottenham when he has been able to remain fit.

Of course, his injury record is a major issue, but the Brazilian has not done anything to be called out on away from the pitch.

Richarlison wanted Everton to show more ambition, and that is certainly on display under the new ownership.

It feels as if Richarlison is now in need of somewhere he can nail down some regular minutes and Everton could offer him exactly that at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton fans will be hoping to see some big names come through the door this summer.

The Friedkins are finally going to be able to splash some cash on Merseyside and plenty of signings are needed.

David Moyes has taken up base in Miami as he has attended a number of Club World Cup games in Florida.

It has not been the quickest of starts for the Blues in the market, but Everton are looking to sign some players in the coming days.

Everton need to address their attacking options, which have caused issues for years now across various managers.

January proved a quiet window for the Blues as they avoided any further PSR issues, but the Friedkins want a statement signing for Everton this summer.

One of the names that have been floated around is Richarlison, with his Tottenham Hotspur future up in the air.

Tottenham approve move for Everton target Richarlison

Everton would be open to signing Richarlison this summer as he looks to play regular football in the World Cup campaign.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

A huge season awaits the Brazilian who has finally made a return to the national side following Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment.

According to Posta, Tottenham have now given Richarlison the green light to make a move to Turkey this summer.

It is believed Galatasaray are pushing to sign Richarlison as Victor Osimhen looks set for another move in the coming months.

This all comes before Thomas Frank has even had an opportunity to take a look at the Brazilian back at Hotspur Way.

Richarlison suggested he wants to fight for his Tottenham future following their Europa League triumph against Manchester United.

But serious competition already lies in his way, and more additions this summer could push Richarlison even further away from the starting XI.

Everton need a reliable striker this summer

Bringing Richarlison back to Merseyside for the Hill Dickinson Stadium would certainly be a fairytale story.

However, Everton have to make moves this summer that make sense financially.

Moyes has played down a return for Richarlison after being asked about the former Everton player towards the backend of the campaign.

The Toffees are in need of a reliable number nine who is unlikely to miss a lot of time through injury, which Richarlison cannot guarantee.

Everton move one step closer to signing ‘devastating’ striker who Tottenham wanted last summer

Everton move one step closer to signing 'devastating' striker who Tottenham wanted last summer - everton.news
Description

Everton are tracking a number of strikers this summer transfer window.

David Moyes is exploring a deal to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer transfer window, with a £38.5m deal mooted.

Mitrovic could leave the Saudi Pro League after two years, and Moyes has clearly identified him as a potential Dominic Calvert-Lewin replacement.

Villarreal’s Thierno Barry is also on Everton’s radar after his 19-goal season with the Spanish outfit and Basel.

But now, it appears Everton are moving closer to landing a different striking target.

Everton move a step closer to signing Albert Gudmundsson

Everton have been looking at Albert Gudmundsson in recent weeks as they cast their net far and wide for a striker this window.

Gudmundsson is an Icelandic international and has netted over 100 goals in his career, having turned 28 earlier this month.

Tottenham Hotspur were one of many clubs interested in signing him last summer, but now Everton have been given real hope of landing his signature.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Fiorentina have decided against making his loan a permanent deal and he is now expected to leave his parent club Genoa.

The report claims there’s a real possibility Everton could be Gudmundsson’s next destination, with a move to the Premier League a ‘dream’ for the versatile attacker.

So, it seems the ball is very much in Everton’s court, as personal terms shouldn’t be an issue.

Gudmundsson’s versatility would be so valuable for Everton

Gudmundsson is a ‘devastating’ striker, as does have that natural instinct to find the back of the net, but his game is so much more than just goals.

The 28-year-old can operate as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder, and even as a left and right-winger.

So, quite clearly, he’s an extremely intelligent footballer who can set up goals, too, which would be a real asset to Moyes’ squad.

Gudmundsson’s potential arrival also allows the possibility of a front two, with him behind a focal point like Beto.

Certainly an interesting profile to seriously consider.

Louis Saha makes bold Everton claim that won’t go down well with Tottenham Hotspur fans

Louis Saha makes bold Everton claim that won't go down well with Tottenham Hotspur fans - everton.news
Description

Exciting times are ahead for Everton under the ambitious Friedkin Group.

The American investors plan to spend big at Everton and want to return the club to its past glories, with European football a target.

The move to the new state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium next season will be transformative for finances and should help to push the Toffees up the league.

Everton are expected to bank an extra £40m-a-year in revenue at the Hill Dickinson, so evidently David Moyes will be given a healthy transfer budget.

The foundations have been laid for success and former Everton striker Louis Saha has echoed that sentiment, although not without a little dig at Tottenham Hotspur.

Louis Saha makes Everton claim that Tottenham Hotspur fans won’t like

Louis Saha plied his trade at Everton between 2008 and 2012, netting 34 goals across 115 appearances under Moyes’ stewardship.

Saha retired in 2013 and has worked in punditry since, with one of his latest quotes perhaps not going down well with Tottenham supporters.

The Frenchman claimed that Everton’s potential at the new stadium is much greater than Spurs’ because they have more ‘history’.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

Saha did actually play for the North Londoners for a short period, so he knows both clubs inside and out, which gives his opinion a lot more weight.

There is always a long-running debate about club size and whether Everton should be part of the ‘big six’ instead of Spurs.

Anyhow, under the new owners, Everton are expected to be a much stronger force in the forthcoming years.

What’s Everton’s aim next season?

With Everton’s upturn in form since Moyes’ arrival in January, many are pondering on what is achievable next season.

Some have suggested a challenge for European football, with many excited by the calibre of players being linked this summer, whilst others are a little more pessimistic.

Speaking back in April, Garner suggested that a top 10 finish should be the aim.

“I don’t think many people would expect us to finish in the top half of the table next season, but we know and definitely know that we’ve got the players and we’ve got the ability, and we’ve definitely got the team to finish in the top half.”

When Moyes received his OBE earlier this month, he didn’t hide his ambitions, making it very clear he wants to compete in Europe.

“We had an incredible time at West Ham and winning a European trophy,” the Scotsman explained. ”But now back at Everton, I’ve got to try and set the same sort of sights for Everton as well.

“In the early parts of my career when I was Everton manager, we did get to Europe quite regularly and it has to be, I feel as if it has to be a target for us.”
