Everton have been one of the best teams in England since David Moyes returned.
When David Moyes rejoined Everton, they were staring down the barrel of a first-ever Premier League relegation.
But, Moyes worked his magic and kept the Toffees up with ease last term, and now his side are aiming for Europe this season.
Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔
With that said, former manager Sam Allardyce has explained what simple tactic Moyes has used really well, which Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to do.
Sam Allardyce hails David Moyes for Everton’s defence
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football YouTube channel, Allardyce hailed Moyes for how well he’s coached Everton’s defence.
Interviewer: “Sam do you think the Spurs players have hidden under the manager changes? Have the players been hiding?”
Allardyce replied: “It’s a simple fact, like everything else, you go into a football club, and you look at when they’re struggling, and you say one thing, and this is simple, one thing, stop conceding goals.

“Look at what Moyes has done, you know, start nice and quiet. He’s sitting there, he’s been doing a great job since last year. He’s shown how great he is at what he does.
You can only name one! Which one takes top spot for you? 🤩
“You know, West Ham have suffered since he’s left. Everton have been struggling for years now. He’s gone in, Moyes is like me, straightforward, organisation and consistency in terms of what you want you want to set up and what you want to do.
“He’s got better players in and he still hasn’t got a centre forward yet, not a goal-scoring centre forward which he needs.”
The Toffees have one of the best defensive records in the league, as Jordan Pickford has kept the third most clean sheets in the division, only behind Gianluigi Donnarumma and David Raya.
Only four teams have conceded fewer goals than Moyes’ side, too, so Allardyce is spot on in his assessment of the Scotsman.
