Many at Tottenham felt last week that Ange Postecoglou was likely to be sacked and his chances of staying have come down even further according to a new update by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney.
Daniel Levy faces a very difficult decision on Postecoglou’s future after the Australian broke the club’s 17-year trophy drought by delivering the Europa League title.
Over the past few days, various reports have indicated that the expectation in Hotspur Way is for Postecoglou to be sacked, although the Australian is continuing to hope that the Spurs board will have a change of heart.
Some Tottenham players have voiced their support for Postecoglou, but it remains to be seen if that is likely to have any impact on Levy’s decision.
Ange Postecoglou’s chances of Tottenham stay have dropped
Miguel Delaney previously said that Postecoglou has a 5 per cent chance of remaining in charge of Tottenham at the start of next season.
In his latest, Reading The Game Newsletter, the journalist claims that the Australian’s chances of keeping his job have dropped even further.
While it is not known when Spurs will make the change, Delaney makes it clear that the 59-year-old’s departure is extremely likely.

He writes: “As of Friday morning, Tottenham Hotspur still hadn’t made an official decision on Ange Postecoglou but the chances of staying had apparently gone down from last week’s ‘5 per cent’. His departure is still expected, whenever that may be.”
Why Daniel Levy may be hesitant to back Postecoglou
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are expected to make some ambitious moves in the summer window after securing Champions League qualification.
However, the Spurs hierarchy may be reluctant to give those funds to Postecoglou as they would find themselves in a real pickle if the league form does not improve at the start of next season.
