Ange Postecoglou is hours away from a swift return to Premier League management after he was sacked by Tottenham at the end of last season.
The Australian has been out of work since Daniel Levy opted to dismiss him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in June.
Postecoglou delivered Tottenham’s first trophy in 17 years when he led the team to glory in the Europa League final, but that wasn’t enough to save his job.
Now, his return to the Premier League appears to be imminent, following movement elsewhere in the division.
Ange Postecoglou to join Nottingham Forest imminently
Postecoglou quickly built a reputation for himself at Tottenham, and the Europa League triumph right at the end of his tenure has certainly seen him retain some of that, despite the dismal domestic campaign that he oversaw last term.

He has been linked with several jobs since his departure from N17 was confirmed, but this time around, he finally appears set to secure himself a new role.
His Premier League return is now imminent, as Nottingham Forest appear set to appoint the former Spurs boss.
The Reds parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday night and are expected to make a move for Postecoglou to take over in the next 72 hours, according to journalist Mike McGrath via his X account.
The likes of Brendan Rodgers and Jose Mourinho have previously been tipped to take over at the City Ground, but it is understood that Postecoglou is the preferred option of owner Evangelos Marinakis.
They are hoping to have the deal done in advance of their trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Tottenham shouldn’t regret Ange Postecoglou sack
Tottenham’s decision to sack Postecoglou was a controversial one at the time, but they shouldn’t regret their call as they look back on it.
In Thomas Frank, they now have a man at the helm who is significantly more measured and calculated, and he should provide them with the stability that they need following Levy’s departure.
The former Brentford boss is a much more adaptable tactician than his predecessor, and he has already made a bright start in the early stages of the new campaign.
This season is likely to be something of a transition period for Tottenham, given all the change that has taken place in recent months, but there can be no doubt that they are now better placed to achieve success in the long term.
