Ange Postecoglou's immediate future at the club is set to be confirmed next week, with the Tottenham boss still considered at risk of losing his job, according to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph.
Spurs beat Manchester United to the 2024/25 Europa League title in emphatic fashion, with Brennan Johnson's goal the difference between the two sides. Postecoglou's men defended well to see out the first piece of silverware in 17 years.
But Tottenham ended the Premier League season with a 4-1 loss to Brighton at home, confirming a dismal 17th-placed finish - their worst ever in the competition's history. As such, there are questions over whether Postecoglou is the right manager to lead chairman Daniel Levy's project in North London.
Postecoglou at 'Extreme Risk' of Losing Job
Levy has explored his options
As per McGrath, Postecoglou's future will reportedly be decided next week, and the 59-year-old is still at risk of losing his position, despite breaking the Lilywhites' long-running silverware drought.
A devastating Premier League campaign consisting of 22 defeats is difficult to overlook in its entirety, and Levy has considered options to takeover from the Greek-Australian custodian, should he decide to part ways.
The list of candidates includes Brentford tactician Thomas Frank, while Fulham's Marco Silva has also been considered, though the Portuguese has indicated that he will stay at Craven Cottage for next season.
Bournemouth manager Andonia Iraola and Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace have also been linked with a move to Tottenham, but it is unlikely either will depart from their respective clubs.
Postecoglou has successfully returned Spurs to the Champions League, and he insisted during the club's open-top bus parade that "In all the best TV series, season three is better than season two". It remains to be seen whether he will still be in charge for the 2025/26 term.
