Anthony Gordon has been singing the praises of one Tottenham Hotspur player in particular.

The 25-year-old was speaking to the media after Newcastle suffered a 1-0 defeat to the K-League XI in what is their third defeat of pre-season.

There is much uncertainty around Newcastle United right now, with Alexander Isak agreeing a contract with Liverpool.

Next up for Gordon and the Tyneside club is a clash with Spurs, and the winger has been raving about one of the Lilywhites’ star players.

Anthony Gordon names Son Heung-min as role model

Anthony Gordon has named Son Heung-min as one of his ‘role models’ ahead of Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle in pre-season.

The England international was asked about the time he commented a goat emoji on one of Son’s social media posts. The Newcastle star went on to reveal his strong admiration for the South Korean legend.

Gordon told Coupang Play: “Son is one of my favourite players ever in the Premier League. He plays in my position, so he’s a role model for me.

“I also spoke to him a couple of times. He texts me after games. He’s a really, really nice guy, so humble, a real role model, a legend in England and in Korea. An amazing guy.”

Son could leave Tottenham this summer, as TBR Football has revealed, with the North London club open to offers for him.

LAFC have held talks to sign Son, and it is now believed that the winger is seriously considering the move to the MLS.

Thomas Frank has been impressed by Son in training and has refused to rule out the possibility of the 33-year-old staying.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that should the legendary captain leave, Spurs want to sign a big-name replacement, and it is believed that Rodrygo Goes would be open to joining Tottenham.

Mathys Tel hails Son Heung-min as a legend

His Tottenham teammate Mathys Tel has also been speaking about Son’s status as a legend in the game and how he learns from him every day.

Tel was signed permanently for £30m this summer and is expected to compete with Son for a spot on the left side of Spurs’ attack.

Tel told Hayters TV: “I’m talking all the time with Sonny because he has more experience than me, so I want to learn and make sure that I become better every day.

“He just helps me every day. Sonny is a legend, everybody knows him, so I’m very happy to work with him.”
