Alasdair Gold has now revealed that Tottenham’s Antonin Kinsky is nursing a minor injury with surgery pencilled for the end of the season.

Antonin Kinsky has seen his Tottenham Hotspur career go full circle in the last couple of weeks after his howlers on his Champions League debut against Atletico Madrid in Madrid, Spain.

The young shot stopper has quickly put that performance behind him and produced a string of impressive displays in his five league outings for Tottenham since deputising for the injured Guglielmo Vicario.

Kinsky has since proven to be a solid replacement, making stunning saves in games against Wolves and Leeds, keeping Tottenham in the driving seat as they look to beat the drop to the Championship.

Tottenham Antonin Kinsky set for surgery at the end of the season

Vicario has now returned for Spurs and should be in contention this weekend after undergoing hernia surgery during the last international break.

Kinsky, though, will be hoping he can keep the Italian out of the side for much longer, even after De Zerbi admitted that Vicario remains his number one.

Alasdair Gold has now revealed the length Kinsky is willing to go for Tottenham, revealing that the goalkeeper is set to undergo a small procedure after the end of the season for a medical issue rather than an injury.

This suggests the Czech international could well have been playing with a small knock. It remains unclear what the issue is, but many fans will remember that Vicario had long had hernia issues and continued to play on regardless.

The young shotstopper now looks to have taken a leaf out of the Italian’s book as Spurs gear up for their meeting with Everton.

Kinsky is also willing to go to greater lengths amid rumours that the 23-year-old has turned down the chance to play in the FIFA World Cup with the Czech Republic after being omitted from the squad.

It is explained that he has chosen instead to undergo surgery immediately after the season so he can be fully fit and compete for his place at Tottenham next season.
