Tottenham Hotspur will have to overcome competition from Arsenal if they want to add a Championship starlet to their squad.

Roberto De Zerbi and Spurs face a tricky task in planning for the summer window, as they do not yet know which division they will be playing in next season.

According to reports, Tottenham are now making two different plans for the summer window, depending on whether they stay up or go down.

One of the names on the Lilywhites’ summer wishlist is a 16-year-old Championship winger, but their pursuit of the player just got a lot harder.

Arsenal enter race for Tottenham target Jeremy Monga

It has been widely reported that Spurs are plotting a move for Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, who became the Premier League’s second-youngest debutant last season for Leicester.

The 16-year-old has played 25 times in the Championship this term, and it emerged a few days ago that Spurs may face plenty of competition for the Leicester youngster’s signature.

Interested clubs include Man United, Tottenham, Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund.

MORE SPURS STORIES

A new report from CaughtOffside has now revealed that Arsenal are the latest club to enter the race for Monga, with the Gunners said to be showing ‘strong interest’ in the teenager.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta’s side are long-time admirers of the Foxes youngster and are looking to move ahead of the competition to strike a deal.

Is Monga likely to leave Leicester this summer?

CaughtOffside have revealed that Monga has already agreed a professional contract with Leicester, which comes into effect when he turns 17 this summer.

However, they make it clear that the deal does not guarantee that the winger will still be at the King Power Stadium next season.

The Foxes are planning to make big changes to their squad this summer and want to build around Monga, who they see as their ‘crowned jewel’, but the club are currently fighting to stay in the Championship.
