Here is the latest team news and confirmed lineups for Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur this evening in the Premier League. Villa’s domestic form has been inconsistent, with just two wins in their last eight fixtures. With several clubs still chasing Champions League qualification, the Villains will want to maintain their cushion with a victory today. However, following a 1–0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, Unai Emery’s side host the return leg on Thursday. He will be keen to ensure his squad remains fresh for that clash.

Tottenham, however, can afford no distractions. With relegation a growing threat, Spurs desperately need points to move out of the bottom three. A 1–0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers, their first of 2026, restored belief and potentially broke a mental barrier. Roberto De Zerbi has improved performances, but they need more results like that to ensure it is not in vain.

Below are the confirmed lineups for Aston Villa vs Tottenham.

No players are suspended for Tottenham.

Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke were forced off in the victory over Wolves. Simons’ injury has since been confirmed as a ruptured ACL, which is expected to rule him out for around seven months.

When asked whether Solanke could face Villa at Friday’s press conference, De Zerbi replied: “Villa, no, for sure, then we will see.”

Guglielmo Vicario remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from hernia surgery. His manager confirmed: “He’s not available yet.”

James Maddison trained “very well” this week, but the midfielder will require further assessment. De Zerbi explained: “I would like to play with him… but we have to consider the physical condition.” He added: “I think he can be important in the next three games.”

Having missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury, Pape Sarr will also be assessed.

Destiny Udogie is set to return in some capacity. De Zerbi said: “I don’t know if it’s the beginning of the game or the second half, but he’s available, yes.”

To Be Assessed: Maddison and Sarr.
