Barcelona are believed to be eyeing a move to raid Tottenham in the summer transfer window, but they also face competition from Galatasaray, according to Fotospor.

Depending on how the next few weeks pan out, there could be a major fire sale at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the summer transfer window.

If relegated from the Premier League, a host of Spurs' stars will be seeking moves away from the club, and they might even be looking for departures if they avoid the drop.

Spurs won't be competing in Europe next season, but the majority of Tottenham's squad will have signed for the club due to them playing in the Champions League or Europa League.

Barcelona Eyeing Tottenham Raid

According to a report from Fotospor, both Galatasaray and Barcelona are showing an interest in signing Tottenham midfielder Xavi Simons ahead of the summer transfer window.

It's claimed that the Dutch international will head through the exit door later this year if Spurs drop down to the Championship, but he's likely to remain in north London if they avoid relegation.

Simons, described as 'phenomenal', hasn't hit the heights expected of him this season, so it would be a surprise move for Barcelona to try to secure his signature.

Barcelona also allowed him to depart as a youngster, so going back in for him would come as a bit of a shock.

Tottenham Need to Build Around Simons

If Tottenham avoid being relegated from the Premier League, then Simons is the type of player they need to build around.

He might not have performed as supporters would have expected just yet, but he's shown glimpses.

It takes time for players to settle into a new league, especially the Premier League, and Simons is still only 23 years old.

The Dutch international is exactly the type of attacking player that Roberto De Zerbi needs to help implement his system, and he showed signs of that during their recent game against Brighton.
