Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund has revealed how close Joao Palhinha is to completing a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Palhinha is expected to be Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer, with the Portuguese international set to join on a loan deal with an option to buy for €30m (£26m).
Some sources have claimed over the last 24 hours that Thomas Frank is delighted to have Palhinha on board, and a new update has now shed light on what is expected of the experienced midfielder this season.
It has been claimed that an official confirmation of Palhinha’s arrival at Spurs is not far away, and Bayern Munich have now provided an update on the transfer.

The Tottenham Hotspur squad are currently in South Korea for pre-season, but the club officials have seemingly been working on the former Fulham man’s transfer back home.
It has emerged that Palhinha had his medical in Germany on Saturday, with the formalities now expected to be completed.
This has now been confirmed by Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund, who said when asked about the 30-year-old’s move to Spurs (via journalist Heiko Nidderer): “If everything goes smoothly, it won’t drag on endlessly. Soon…”
