Tottenham Hotspur are ‘some way down the line’ in the process of identifying potential replacements for Ange Postecoglou, BBC journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed.

The Lilywhites are reportedly still exploring alternatives to the Australian tactician following the Europa League final win on Wednesday, which ended their 17-year wait for a trophy.

Postecoglou’s position heading into the summer remains uncertain, but Mokbel claims it ‘should become clear in the immediate future’ amid growing fears the ex-Celtic boss could be dismissed.

Tottenham Considering Postecoglou’s Future

According to Mokbel, with Champions League football to look forward to next season, Tottenham have become a significantly more attractive destination for potential managerial targets.

The likes of Thomas Frank, Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner are still believed to be among the top contenders to take over in North London, while former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli has also emerged as a candidate in recent days.

Former managing director of football Fabio Paratici could also have a major say in Spurs’ next appointment, as he is believed to be in talks to return to the club when his 18-month suspension ends in July.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham have suffered 21 losses in 37 league games this season.

Postecoglou’s future has become a growing concern amid Tottenham’s dismal domestic campaign as they currently sit 17th in the table with one game to play.

The Lilywhites have won just once in their last 11 matches and are set to finish outside the Premier League’s top 15 for the first time in their history.

Tottenham will end their season on Sunday with a home clash against Brighton.
