Tottenham Hotspur could be set to shortly welcome back Fabio Paratici as their managing director of football, according to BBC Sport - with the Italian's 'worldwide' ban from the game set to come to an end next month after a 30-month suspension.

Paratici had already been at Tottenham in the Antonio Conte era, seeing the club come fourth in the Premier League at the end of his first campaign in the boardroom, though he was forced to resign just under two years later with Tottenham languishing in eighth in the table, one point away from Europa Conference League qualification and 11 from the Champions League. But after serving his ban, the Italian will be set to return to the fore next month and potentially join Thomas Frank, who is closing in on a switch to Tottenham.

Report: Paratici 'in Talks' to Rejoin Tottenham After Two-Year Hiatus

The report by BBC journalist Sami Mokbel states that Tottenham are expected to confirm the departure of chief football officer Scott Munn later in the week, with the Australian set to follow Ange Postecoglou out of the club thanks to an internal reshuffle.

It's deemed a significant change in what is a crucial summer for Tottenham ahead of their Champions League campaign next season - and as another key turning point in their summer plans, the report states that Paratici is in talks over a return to the club once his FIFA ban expires in July.

Paratici was banned from 'worldwide football' for 30 months back in April 2023, after being found guilty of false accounting at Juventus, where he was previously sporting director and managing director of the Italian giants.

With his ban set to expire next month, Spurs' former managing director of football is now in talks to make the switch back to north London, and has been working with Tottenham on a consultancy basis during his suspension - with the process of the Europa League champions re-appointing him thought to be ongoing.

It's believed that there has been interest from the Middle East in 52-year-old Paratici, though it's understood that he is keen to rejoin Tottenham, who he originally moved to in June 2021, following Conte from Italy to London.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Fabio Paratici also spent 11 years at Juventus, from 2010 to 2021.

Paratici was instrumental in the signings of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur in his first season at the club - whilst Pedro Porro, Richarlison, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence joined in his second year at the club as Tottenham qualified for the Champions League - and he'll be looking to bring in similar profiles over the coming months should he be appointed.
