There has been a big update on the future of Sebastian Kehl, who is reportedly Tottenham’s top target for the sporting director role.

Spurs are on the lookout for a new sporting director to replace Fabio Paratici, who left the North London club after the January window slammed shut.

It has emerged over recent weeks that Kehl has shot to the top of Tottenham’s wishlist, as news emerged that the German was set to part ways with Borussia Dortmund after four years in the same role at the Bundesliga side.

According to various sources, Spurs want Kehl to work together with Johan Lange to rebuild their squad this summer ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first season in charge.

Tottenham target Sebastian Kehl is now officially on the market

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to confirm that Kelh has officially agreed to terminate his contract with Dortmund.

The journalist confirms that Spurs are keen on hiring the 46-year-old but also adds that the director has not made a decision on his future yet.

Plettenberg wrote on X: “Borussia Dortmund and Sebastian Kehl have agreed on the termination of his contract, which was running until 2027. According to BILD, the severance package is around €1.5m. Tottenham remain keen. No decision yet.”
