Yves Bissouma spent his final weeks at Tottenham fighting for the badge, but a departure from Hotspur Way is now imminent.

Bissouma’s time at Tottenham has been defined by his immense talent but woeful inconsistency.

The Mali international seemed to be getting back to his best under Ange Postecoglou, but was iced out at times last season. However, not once did he complain, and he kept his head down before putting on a formidable performance during the UEFA Europa League final.

While that heroic display may have earned a few brownie points among Tottenham fans, it has done little to save him from his current fate.

Fenerbahçe to hold talks with Bissouma and Tottenham

While Bissouma has been linked to Juventus, it now seems that a move to Fenerbahçe is the likelier outcome.

MORE SPURS STORIES

José Mourinho is reportedly an admirer of the midfielder who can drive towards the goal with ease on his better days, and it seems that he is determined to sign the 28-year-old.

As reported by Yağiz Sabuncuoğlu via X on Friday (11 July), a representative authorised by Fenerbahçe has flown to London to meet with Bissouma and Tottenham.

If all goes to plan, the Turkish club could accelerate the file, which would see the former Brighton midfielder leave England this summer.

Tottenham will need to replace Bissouma

With the UEFA Champions League and a potential 50 or more games to be played next season, Tottenham cannot afford to forgo replacements this summer.

The addition of Morgan Gibbs-White could have been part of the solution, given his ability to be deployed as a box-to-box midfielder. However, his transfer to Spurs is thought to be in jeopardy, with Nottingham Forest looking to stake a legal claim against the North London club’s handling of the transfer.

As a result, the Lilywhites may need to look for another player to join while the matter is resolved. But no matter who the club decides on, Bissouma’s performance in that final will forever be imprinted into the minds of Tottenham fans.
