Borussia Dortmund supporters have already warned Tottenham Hotspur over the idea of appointing Sebastian Kehl.
Spurs are understood to be considering the former Black and Yellow executive to work alongside Johan Lange as a sporting director.
Telegraph journalist Matt Law claimed on 23 March that sources in Germany think that he is in the frame for the Lilywhites vacancy, left behind by Fabio Paratici.
Tottenham need to get it right, and supporters of the German club think they are getting it disasterously wrong if they appoint the 46-year-old.
What have Borussia Dortmund fans said about Kehl and Tottenham?
Tottenham have been criticised for the double model in the past, but it seems like they plan to stick with it going forward.

Dortmund supporters were clearly fed up with Kehl and the way that he went about transfers in North Rhine-Westphalia.
One supporter on X, said: “I think it’s a good decision to fire him. He’s screwed up a lot of transfers!”
Another commented: “As a player, a legend; as sports director, rather lacklustre, but that does come across as rather sudden, after all.”
One fan questioned why it has taken so long to fire him, saying: “Right decision. Just the question of why only now.”
Another said: “We thank you for the bad transfers. And now Ricken too and hopefully it’ll work out again for once”
That view was followed by someone else, who said: “Absolutely understandable. The squad composition hasn’t been worthy of a European top club for years already.”
The feeling was clearly very popular, with another supporter saying: “Ricken now needs to demonstrate competence and leadership strength. Otherwise, he’ll lose his job too. The thing with Kehl is a first good step.”
One said: “Sebastian Kehl was a great player at BVB! He helped shape an era. Thanks for that! Unfortunately, the quality isn’t quite enough for the position of sporting director.”
Some Dortmund fans specifically warned Spurs about the potential appointment.
Another commented on the links, saying: “Adolf Hütter and the Kitchen Throat, At the Spurs, it’s going rapidly downhill…”
One fan could not help but laugh at the North London side, saying: “fighting against relegation and hiring Sebastian Kehl to be your sporting director is like flying a plane without fuel and lowering the landing gear.”
Another said: “Kehl to Tottenham yeah they’re cooked”
What happened to Kehl at Dortmund?
Kehl became Dortmund’s new sporting director in 2022, replacing Michael Zorc, who was a legendary figure at Signal Iduna Park.
He brought the likes of Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck and Julian Ryerson to the club, who all started in the 2024 Champions League final, which they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
However, in recent years, he has been criticised with many observers believing that the German outfit had lost their touch in the transfer market under Kehl.
He was understood to be hesitant in the market, and he also had disputes with his superior, Lars Ricken, which would not bode well if he were to come to N17.
He would likely run into the same issue, and clash with Lange, which would not benefit the club at all.
Given how Dortmund fans have reacted to the potential hire and his dismissal, Spurs should take a hard pass on him.
