Thomas Frank has now learnt that he will face Burnley in his opening Premier League match in charge of Tottenham.

The Premier League have announced that the Lilywhites will begin their campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 16 August.

This will mark the first clash in North London with the Danish head coach in the dugout after moving from Brentford on a contract until 2028.

With plenty of transfer rumours already swirling around N17, there are several signings in the pipeline ahead of opening day against the Clarets.

Now, Tottenham News has predicted how Spurs could line up as they prepare to welcome Burnley.

Frank to name rotated defence v Burnley

Although the clash against Scott Parker’s men will represent the first league fixture for the new Lilywhites boss, it won’t be his first competitive appearance.

This will come in the Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain, with that fixture in Udine, Italy, being scheduled just three days before the Premier League kicks off.

As a result, changes may be present in the backline, although Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro could be set to start together.

This could see fringe players from last season, Djed Spence and Radu Dragusin, come in to provide other options like Destiny Udogie with some early rest.

It is yet to be seen whether Cristian Romero will remain in North London beyond the summer, but he could miss out regardless.

Ebere Eze to join midfield at Tottenham

As it stands, no one is quite sure how Frank will line up his Spurs side, although a 4-3-3 formation could be utilised in the coming campaign.

This could see a base duo of Pape Sarr and Archie Gray be utilised at Tottenham, with the latter likely to be a particular favourite of the former Brentford boss.

The pairing could help the backline and cover for a big-name new signing in the shape of Crystal Palace sensation Eze.

After winning the FA Cup with the Eagles, the England international could be on the move and may make his Premier League debut in White against Burnley in the number 10 role.

Bryan Mbuemo to complete forward line in Tottenham v Burnley

There is likely to be a familiar feel to the attacking areas in North London in the new campaign, even if someone like Son Heung-min is to depart Spurs.

This would leave space for Mathys Tel to come in from the start after signing permanently from Bayern Munich this summer.

The Frenchman could link up with Dominic Solanke once again, with the Englishman likely to be hopeful of an even better second season.

This duo could be joined on the right flank by Brentford favourite Mbeumo, who has been strongly linked to Tottenham at this stage in the window.

If the Cameroon international comes in, he could start the opening day of the Premier League season to showcase his class to the N17 faithful, back in combination with Frank yet again.
