Manchester United are using the help of one of their players to ensure that they beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.
If reports over the last 24 hours are anything to go by, the Brentford forward’s future is now completely up in the air, as Spurs and the Red Devils battle to win the race for his signature.
It has been reported that Tottenham are willing to outbid Man United for Mbeumo, but the Lilywhites are still not thought to be the favourites to land the 25-year-old.
This is because Mbeumo has allegedly already verbally agreed to join Man United, although a fee has yet to be agreed between the Manchester club and the West London side.
Andre Onana urges Bryan Mbeumo to choose Manchester United over Tottenham
It has now been revealed by the Manchester Evening News that the Bees star still favours a move to Old Trafford.
His Cameroon international teammate, Andre Onana, has allegedly advised the 25-year-old to join him at Rubem Amorim’s side.
Mbeumo wants to move to United and the Manchester club are hoping that Onanna can play a role in swaying his teammates to reject the advances of Tottenham and his former boss, Thomas Frank.

The pair were on international duty earlier this month for Cameroon’s friendlies against Uganda and Equatorial Guinea, and the United number one used the opportunity to help sell a move up north to the forward.
Spurs are not giving up on Mbeumo despite his preference
However, this report from MEN makes it clear that the race for the Brentford man is far from done and dusted.
According to the publication’s sources, Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘aggressively pursuing’ Mbeumo after confirming Frank as their next head coach.
