The 27-year-old got Burnley back on level terms with a smart finish from Kyle Walker’s right-wing cross.
Not only was it his first goal in Burnley colours, and also his first in the Premier League, it was the first time he’s found the back of the net in a league game during his whole career.
The only other occasion he’s scored was for his last club Ipswich Town during a 3-1 FA Cup win over AFC Wimbledon in January 2024.
But up until Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Turf Moor, the DR Congo international had gone 118 league games without notching – spanning nine-and-a-half seasons.

At the time, Tuanzebe wasn’t focusing on his own personal achievements though, he was just delighted to get Burnley back on level terms.
“Knowing it was my first Premier League wasn’t something on my mind at the time, it was just more so getting back in the game and driving that spirit and belief,” he told Burnley’s YouTube channel.
The game would ultimately end in disappointment for the Clarets, with Christian Romero heading home a last-minute equaliser for the away side.
It means Burnley are now without a win in their last 14 league games to leave them 10 points adrift of safety.
