Leeds United face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night in what is our penultimate away fixture of the campaign.

For a long time this season, Daniel Farke’s men have struggled to pick up points on the road, and whilst our away form is still the third worst in the Premier League, it has been much improved in recent weeks.

United are unbeaten in our last six away games in the Premier League, with that run being a pivotal reason as to why the Whites have separated themselves from the rest of the teams in the relegation dogfight.

Chris Sutton predicts Leeds United to lose against Tottenham while remaining in the Premier League

Chris Sutton recently had his say on Leeds’ upcoming clash with Tottenham, and the former striker’s verdict will certainly leave United supporters with mixed feelings.

The Elland Road faithful were be paying close attention to the West Ham game on Sunday. The Hammers faced Arsenal at the London Stadium.

A win for Mikel Arteta’s side would confirm Leeds’ mathematically safety in the Premier League. Leandro Trossard’s late winner meant the pressure is now off the Whites for our game against Spurs.

In his latest prediction article for , Sutton predicted that Arsenal would pick up the win against West Ham, which happened and has rubber-stamped survival.

Speaking on the Leeds game, Sutton said, “Leeds are all but safe now, and they could be absolutely sure of staying up by the time they play this game.

But, he then claimed Leeds would come up short in our game against Spurs on Monday.

“That scenario would definitely suit Spurs, but I am going to back Roberto de Zerbi’s side here regardless,” before going on to predict Spurs to win 2-1.

In spite of safety being assured ahead of kick-off, predicted defeat Leeds supporters may have mixed feelings following this round of Premier League fixtures.

Leeds United fans will be desperate to beat Tottenham

Even though we would all would take a loss alongside confirmed survival, I, along with so many other Leeds fans, are desperate to beat Spurs on Monday night.

Many will remember the last day of the 2022/23 campaign. We had a slim chance of staying in the Premier League, but we needed to beat Spurs at Elland Road.

The performance that followed was the most embarrassing I’ve seen live at a game, as we found ourselves a goal down within two minutes courtesy of Harry Kane.

Ultimately, we ended up losing 4-1 as our relegation was confirmed, with the travelling Spurs supporters celebrating Lucas Moura’s late goal in his final appearance for the club like they’d just won the Champions League.

Fast forward to today, and the shoe is on the other foot. And, by beating Spurs on Monday, we could ensure their relegation scrap with West Ham goes down to the wire.
