A Tottenham Hotspur man is reportedly very keen to return to his former club this summer, but Spurs are not making a deal easy, with the two sides not seeing eye-to-eye on the structure of a transfer.
According to reports, Thomas Frank is set to undertake a major rebuild of the Tottenham squad ahead of his first season in charge as the Dane goes about putting his imprint on the side he inherited from Ange Postecoglou.
There is thus expected to be plenty of player turnover at Hotspur Way, with some players appearing likely to leave the club.
One of those is Alejo Veliz, who has been heavily linked with a return to his Rosario Central, two years on from swapping the Argentine side for North London.
Rosario Central make no progress in Alejo Veliz talks with Tottenham
A report in La Pagina 12 has now revealed that the 21-year-old’s former club are not finding their transfer pursuit straightforward.
They say that although Rosaria have not made any progress in their efforts to land Veliz, the club are maintaining contact with Tottenham Hotspur.
They also spoke to a club official, who has allegedly said that the youngster is desperate for a return to his former stomping ground following two unsuccessful seasons in Europe.

The outlet quotes a member of Rosaria’s leadership as saying about the Veliz deal: “There’s no progress, but he’s not down. We are willing to make a financial effort, but nothing has been made yet. They (the English team) are still considering selling his transfer.
“Veliz will do everything in his power to secure a return to Central. He’s convinced that returning to the club now is the best thing for his career, and that’s fundamental to our aspirations. But we have to wait until July to see what’s new.”
Rosario Central hoping Spurs change their stance on Veliz
La Pagina 12 go on to reveal that Rosario have already made a loan proposal to Tottenham, which includes an undisclosed loan fee.
However, the Lilywhites have so far shown no interest in loaning out the Argentina Under-20 international, with the Premier League side preferring a permanent sale.
The belief at Rosaria is that Spurs’ stance on Veliz may change later in the transfer window, particularly if the North Londoners do not receive any better proposals for the player.
