Rosario Central are now working extremely hard to re-sign Alejo Veliz from Tottenham Hotspur, having now launched a new offer to land the striker.

Last week, it was reported that Rosario Central had overtaken Racing Club de Avellaneda in the race to land Veliz.

The update explained that Rosario wanted to sign the Tottenham Hotspur man on loan, but the North London club were insisting on a permanent sale.

It was explained that the Argentine side were trying to use Veliz’s desire to return to the club as a ‘trump card’ to land him, and it appears that they have now indeed launched a permanent offer.

Rosaria Central’s president is in London for Spurs talks

According to a new report in TyC Sports, Rosario have now launched a second offer for the 21-year-old.

The outlet reveals that they have offered an undisclosed amount for 50 per cent of the centre-forward, which means that Spurs will retain a 50 per cent sell-on clause on the player if they accept the bid.

Additionally, Rosario’s president Gonzalo Belloso, and Carolina Cristinziano, his wife and vice president, have travelled to London to negotiate directly with the Spurs hierarchy over Veliz.

Rosario Central optimistic about Alejo Veliz deal with Tottenham

TyC Sports say that one potential stumbling block for the deal is a ‘tax issue’, but the report does not elaborate on what exactly the problem is.

However, despite this roadblock, Rosario Central are optimistic that their negotiations with Tottenham will come to a positive conclusion and the club are ‘excited’ about the striker’s potential return.

The publication adds that Veliz is adamant that if he does return to his home country, it will only be to play for Rosario.
