Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo this summer
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo sent Tottenham Hotspur a perfect example of what he could bring to the club after scoring a long-range effort in the Reds' 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
Gakpo drew Andoni Iraola's side level with a brilliant strike from 25 yards out, picking out the bottom corner to cancel out Anthony Elanga's opener.
Speaking on commentary, Gary Neville said: "He's had a sighter, and he didn't need a second look. He gets into a really good space.
"I'm not quite sure why that Newcastle midfield drop off him and just allow him to get that space in there. The concentration on the strike is absolute from Gakpo.
"He's made some good saves the goalkeeper but he has no chance with that."

The Dutch forward has been linked with a move to North London throughout the summer, as the Spurs hierarchy look to strengthen Roberto De Zerbi's squad.
Spurs narrowly avoided relegation and have splashed the cash in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the last two seasons, with all eyes now on attacking reinforcements.
The club are expected to sign Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush after agreeing a deal with Enzo Maresca's side, but could still bolster their attack further.
Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof claims Liverpool could sanction a departure for Gakpo if he expresses a desire to leave, should they sign Bradley Barcola from PSG.
The reporter claims there aren't any talks ongoing between Liverpool and Spurs, but suggests that could change before the transfer deadlin.
"For now, radio silence between Liverpool and Spurs regarding Cody Gakpo," Blaauwhof said.
"As long as Bradley Barcola isn't at Anfield, the chance of a deal for Tottenham seems nil. All parties know where they stand. If the Frenchman arrives, it will be up to the Oranje forward."
Tottenham were well beaten by Brentford yesterday and Spurs know they can't afford similar displays throughout the campaign.
