A round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours - with news from Manchester United, Leeds, Chelsea and more.
The January transfer window might still be some way off, but the gossip columns keep churning out stories all the same – and to keep you abreast of all the latest stories, we’re back with our regular morning round-up of the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours, starting with a story which involves Manchester United.
According to Sport Witness, the Red Devils are showing “serious interest” in Real Betis striker Troy Parrott, who has flourished since leaving Tottenham Hotspur back in 2024 and whose stock has risen further following a successful move to Spain over the summer.

Although Betis only signed Parrott for an estimated €20m (£16.8m) a few months ago, his recent form – including four goal in three games for the Republic of Ireland over the recent international break – has encouraged Manchester United to send representatives to watch the 24-year-old in action as they assess whether to make a bid.
Betis are said to be “calm” about the situation as they are protected by a hefty €80m (£67.5m) release clause in Parrott’s contract. Manchester United haven’t yet made a formal approach of any kind, so it’s not clear what their valuation of the on-form Irishman might be and whether there’s any chance that a deal could be done in 2027.
The 3AM Verdict: It’s almost impossible to imagine Betis selling Parrott in January, so if Manchester United have indeed had their scouts watching him then it’s a matter of long-term planning. Given that any deal is likely to be a long way off, we wouldn’t set too much stock by reports about which teams are scouting him just yet. Maybe United make a move one day, but’s far too early to say it’s at all likely. This is just a team doing their homework.
Leeds ‘well placed’ to sign long-term transfer target
Let’s switch over to a story from Football Insider now, which alleges that Leeds United have been “on alert” after finding out that Marseille may be forced to sell winger Igor Paixão – a player the Whites almost signed last summer before he moved to France instead.
The 26-year-old Brazilian remains a player of considerable interest and now Marseille may now be compelled to consider offers due to their financial situation. Thanks to Leeds’ discussions with the player and his representatives in 2025 when they were trying to sign him from Feyenoord, they are said to be “well placed” to take advantage of the situation and finally get their guy.
Apparently Paixão, who has cut a somewhat frustrated figure of late amid a poor run of form, has given hints that he’s happy to move on, while Marseille would sell for a transfer fee of around £40m. The report suggests that will be too rich for Leeds’ blood, however.
The 3AM Verdict: Leeds do seem to have continued to monitor Paixão since missing out on him a little over a year ago, and everything we’ve heard suggests genuine interest. As for the transfer fee, £40m is almost certainly too high – he cost Marseille around £26m in 2025 and hasn’t done much to increase his value since.
Chelsea make moves for Portuguese wonderkid
Let’s wrap up with a story from TEAMtalk which alleges that Chelsea are setting up to launch a bid for Benfica starlet Daniel Banjaqui, an 18-year-old who has apparently become a “leading target” in the run-up to the January transfer window.
With Reece James once again enduring injury issues, the signing of a right-back like Banjaqui is apparently becoming more of a priority. Barcelona’s Jules Koundé is also said to be a target, but with the Catalan club seemingly not keen on striking a mid-season deal, Banjaqui has emerged as a real consideration despite playing just six senior matches in his career so far.
The report claims that Banjaqui has a release clause of €45m (£38m) baked into his contract, which they may have to trigger given that Benfica would supposedly like to keep the youngster around. Arsenal and Liverpool are also mentioned as teams who are keeping track of Banjaqui’s progress.
The 3AM Verdict: We’ve seen reports elsewhere which suggest that it’s actually Newcastle, Manchester United and Barcelona who are at the front of the queue to sign Banjaqui, while other stories states that his release clause is as high as €80m. All of which should tell you that we’re in a very speculative phase of the development of stories about his future – we don’t know when and where he’ll go, and after just a few appearances we doubt any elite sides will spring £38m or more to sign him mid-season. One for the future, we imagine.
