Cody Gakpo to Tottenham Hotspur? It's a deal that looks more on than ever before - and it could move quickly.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a pretty incredible transfer window, in all honesty. They moved rapidly to fix their issues at centre-back, signing Marco Senesi on a free transfer before bringing in Jan Paul van Hecke for big money.

Sandro Tonali followed in midfield - a massive signing - and they’re reportedly hoping to bring in Savio from Manchester City. The latter is a player we’d quite like to see at Liverpool, if possible.

The attack is next on the agenda over there, then, and reports have linked them with a move for Cody Gakpo. Fabrizio Romano is among those saying that a potential deal there is one to keep an eye on.

And it seems the possibility have moved forward after an injury elsewhere. Spurs were eyeing a big-money move for Junior Eli Kroupi, but the Bournemouth forward has picked up an injury and will be out for months.

Teamtalk report that they’ll now move on - and their interest in Gakpo will only be enhanced here. Spurs want a new forward and their shortlist just got shorter, moving the Liverpool star up their rankings.

The big question, though, is whether Liverpool would sanction a sale. We imagine they would if Bradley Barcola were to arrive from Paris Saint-Germain. He typically plays from the left and his arrival would cut Gakpo’s game time anyway.

We still believe Liverpool need a winger on the right, though. Selling Gakpo after signing Barcola opens the door for that, bringing some extra cash to make it happen.

That really could make all the difference. At the speed Spurs are moving at this summer, we think the Gakpo deal could suddenly move quite quickly after the Kroupi injury.

Let’s see what happens.
