Tottenham Hotspur face a defining final month in their bid to preserve their Premier League status, and Louis Saha has suggested that the squad possesses more than enough quality to avoid a historic drop to the Championship.

Tottenham Hotspur have it all to play for in the Premier League this season, with four games left as they fight to avoid relegation to the Championship for the first time in their history.

The margin for error is very slim, as they look to overcome a two-point deficit with West Ham United sitting in 17th place.

Games against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton are where Tottenham must get results, and at least try to outperform West Ham, if they are to leapfrog the Hammers and secure their league status.

Tottenham survival hopes backed by Louis Saha verdict

Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has now given his take on Spurs’ relegation scrap as the 2025-26 season draws to a close.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking to Toonie Bet, Saha addressed Tottenham’s situation and insisted they have enough to stay up. He also noted that while the potential to compete for the highest honours has often been touted, internal issues and poor execution have frequently prevented the side from reaching its potential.

He said: “Tottenham have the team to win those games and stay up – they should not be in this position.

“For years I have felt they had the potential to compete for titles, but something always goes wrong.

“I do not know exactly what it is, but some of the decisions and transfers have not been good enough.”

Spurs must show character in relegation fight

Saha also touched on the talent within the Tottenham squad, explaining that he believes they have enough quality to beat the drop.

Continuing his assessment to Toonie Bet, he stressed the importance of mentality in the run-in: “They have the talent, even with injuries, to win those games.

“It is about showing character now. At this stage of the season, you need fighting spirit, confidence and support from the fans.

“If they bring those things together, they will stay up.”
