Our Academy graduate Damola Ajayi will be able to play against us on Wednesday night as his loan side Doncaster Rovers come to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face us in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The forward, who made Spurs debut in January, coming off the bench to score in our 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League, moved to Doncaster in the summer of a season long-loan deal as he looks to pick up vital experience in the English Football League.
And, as fate would have it, he is set to return home for one night only with us drawing Donny in round three of the League Cup, and it has been agreed that Damola can play against us, his parent club, in the game.
Speaking ahead of the game, his manager in Yorkshire, Grant McCann, said: "I'm really pleased for Damola. We can see it now every single day that he is starting to understand the level.
"Under-21s football is good but it is only good to a certain point and, when you go above that, you need men's football. And Damola is starting to develop all the time. it's really nice to see him developing and improving, so it is a good opportunity to go and play against his team-mates that he has been playing with, and being part of their journey of course with the trophy they picked up last year.
"Damola will be used to the environment and hopefully he can tell a few of the boys what its like and calm them down. And lets see if he can put a good performance in."
