Daniel Levy has been taking steps to appease Tottenham supporters after a fractured season in North London.

Spurs fans have criticised Levy for his lack of investment in the playing squad, but this summer is following a different narrative.

Tottenham have already signed Mohammed Kudus for £55million and showed further intent in their £60million pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White.

Now, Levy is aiming to generate more funds for the Lilywhites by working towards a lucrative sponsorship deal for their home.

Levy to generate significant funds from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Imagine Dragons were the latest act to grace the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Lilywhites continue their pre-season.

Naming rights deals are another avenue for serious revenue, and Levy wanted to secure a world-record £375million package for the home stadium, with a lucrative deal now being worked on.

With Levy eyeing a huge deal, football finance expert Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, has provided insight.

“If you look at that overall number, I’d like to see the divide by number of years linked to that, so it does depend on the per-year value, and that’s what we can see in some of the estimates and values that are out there,“ he said.

“If you take Arsenal at the Emirates and City at the Etihad as an example, those deals are estimated to be worth £16million a year for Arsenal; the City one is a little bit higher, in and around £20million.

“The per-season value becomes really interesting then against that total figure.

“There were a couple of reports done years ago that estimated that Old Trafford could be potentially worth £26million a season, and Spurs, as an example, could generate £17.5million per season.

“They’re estimates based on the standing of the club and their history and intangibles and where they are at the minute.

“If you look at that as a marker, then the ballpark’s probably somewhere between £15-20million per season for a big six club.

“Then, you would want to know what that £375million is divided by in terms of the length of that contract, because that’ll dictate whether or not it’s above average, or above average, depending on the market.

“But in that £15-20million a year ballpark is what they’ll be targeting at least to go higher than that, it would be a bit of a stretch based on what we’ve seen in the figures that we do see in the deals that have been done.”

Spurs need further player investment ahead of Premier League return

While the signing of Kudus is encouraging, the North London outfit need more players to challenge on all fronts.

With Champions League football an added ingredient next season, Thomas Frank needs a deeper squad filled with more quality.

Now that Gibbs-White has signed a new contract at Nottingham Forest, Tottenham need an alternative.

While there is plenty of time left in the market, Spurs must press on with their spending and huge deals like this would no doubt help that.
