David Ornstein has revealed what Tottenham Hotspur’s priorities are in the January transfer window, including two possible targets.

Thomas Frank is a man under immense pressure as Spurs continue to struggle to create chances.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are already lining up potential replacements for Frank in the event that he fails to turn things around.

However, despite this, reports continue to suggest that Spurs are ready to back their head coach with big funds in January to aid his efforts to turn around the team’s fortunes.

David Ornstein reveals Tottenham are eyeing big-name wide-forwards

David Ornstein has now confirmed that the Lilywhites are looking for opportunities to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The journalist said that signing a wide-forward would be a priority for the club, revealing that Antoine Semenyo is on their radar and suggesting that they could go back in for Man City star Savinho.

Ornstien said on Sky Sports’ Back Pages podcast about Tottenham: “They’ll also have the opportunity to improve the squad in the January transfer window. There will be money available if the right profile comes to them, and if it will improve the team in their eyes.

“They like Antoine Semenyo, for example, if it’s not going to be him, maybe some other players in that wide attacking position, which is something they looked at last summer with Savinho from Manchester City. It didn’t come to fruition. Maybe it will in January, and they’ll hope that Thomas Frank can bring the results over time.”

Will the Spurs hierarchy have doubts about backing Frank?

It was reported a few weeks ago that a transfer kitty of £100m will be made available to Frank during the January window.

However, it has now emerged that the Spurs hierarchy are starting to have some doubts about Frank and that support for the Dane is not unanimous at the boardroom level.

It may thus give second thoughts to the Tottenham leadership about making big-money signings suited to the 52-year-old’s system, as there is no guarantee that he will be at the club over the long term.
