Eberechi Eze is growing closer to the exit door at Crystal Palace, according to reports - but the midfielder's move to Tottenham Hotspur won't stop him from starting for the Selhurst Park outfit in the Premier League this weekend.
The Eagles star has long been linked with a move away from the club, having picked up interest from Manchester City last summer, as well as Arsenal and Tottenham with clubs in European competitions looking to pack out their squads with incredible attacking talent, in which the former Queens Park Rangers star would fit the bill.
Ornstein: Eze 'Set to Start' for Palace vs Chelsea
Talks of a move to Tottenham then ramped up last week. Eze is thought to be keen on moving across the capital, with the club playing in the Champions League next season after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final in May.
The report by David Ornstein on X (formerly Twitter) states that Eze is expected to start for Palace at Chelsea in Sunday's Premier League clash, despite being targeted by Spurs for a potential transfer.
The Lilywhites' pursuit of the England attacker is ongoing, but there is no agreement as yet - and the Eagles will continue to work on possible replacements before parting ways with his services.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has praised Eze's professionalism, but has offered no guarantees that he will remain at the club beyond the end of the transfer window.
The report by Ornstein continues in The Athletic, stating that Palace are working on his replacement, with Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss being approached ahead of a potential move, with the only incomings in south London this summer being backup goalkeeper Walter Benitez and Ajax full-back Borna Sosa.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Eberechi Eze has one goal in 11 caps for England's national team.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have landed Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus already this summer - but with club legend Son Heung-min departing for Los Angeles and key playmaker James Maddison suffering a long-term ACL injury, Thomas Frank is looking to bolster his squad with Eze being a target.
Tottenham have also reportedly lined up a move for Manchester City star Savinho in a separate deal, but nothing has come of their approach yet and the Danish gaffer will be willing to bolster his squad in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
