Djed Spence has mocked a Manchester City star following Tottenham’s impressive victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Spurs beat City 2-0 on Saturday (23 August) to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Brennan Johnson opened the scoring for Thomas Frank’s side, before a James Trafford error allowed Joao Palhinha to fire home and double their lead in first-half stoppage time.

Tottenham were able to hold onto their two-goal advantage throughout the second period and leave Manchester with all three points, in what was their third victory over City in the last four games between the pair.

Djed Spence fires dig at Oscar Bobb

Spence played the full 90 minutes at left-back as the North London side continued their superb start to the Premier League campaign.

The 25-year-old has featured as a right-back for the majority of his career, but has started the season on the opposite flank due to an injury to Destiny Udogie.

Spence was up against Man City star Oscar Bobb, and got the better of the winger before he was replaced by Phil Foden after 75 minutes.

Taking to Instagram, the former Nottingham Forest man shared a number of photos from the match, aiming a subtle dig at Bobb with the caption: “Bring me your favourite winger.”

Tottenham find Eberechi Eze alternative

Meanwhile, Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche has been identified as a “cheaper alternative” to Savinho and Eberechi Eze for Tottenham Hotspur, sources have told Football Insider.

Tottenham looked set to land Eze from Crystal Palace, but North London rivals Arsenal dramatically hijacked the deal.

Man City are also demanding £70million for Savinho after Tottenham saw two bids rejected for the Brazilian, and Spurs may now have turned their attention elsewhere.

Football Insider sources have said that Monaco‘s Akliouche would come with a far cheaper price tag and may be a more realistic target for Frank’s side.
