Donley to undergo medical on Tuesday as Tottenham exits confirmed

Tottenham have been keen to utilise their relationships with English Football League clubs this summer to give youngsters first-team experience.

The Lilywhites have already sent Tyrese Hall on loan to Notts County, who were influential in the development of George Abbott.

Meanwhile, Will Lankshear has joined up with Championship side Oxford United for the season. However, Thomas Frank isn’t looking to stop there, with Jamie Donley now set for a move to England’s second tier.

Donley to undergo medical with Stoke City

Tottenham have been busy during the transfer window, as they look to add another attacker on top of the £55million transfer of Mohammed Kudus.

Spurs have also brought former Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha to North London on loan with an option to buy. After making such big signings, it has emerged that some youngsters’ immediate futures aren’t with the Lilywhites.

Now attacking midfielder Donley looks set for a loan move away.

As reported by Alasdair Gold, the 19-year-old is set to join Stoke City on loan (5 August), with Lilywhite Rose reporting via X that he is set to travel for a medical on Tuesday.

The Potters have been a good club to develop Tottenham youngsters at in the past, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jack Clarke, and Ashley Phillips all having successful loans at the bet365 Stadium.

For Spurs, the move is only good news, with Donley making good strides towards becoming a first-team player.

Donley could be a Premier League player in years to come

Donley could follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, should he continue to impress on loan.

He is set for an opportunity in the Championship this season, and it is expected that, should he play well, he will be given an opportunity around the first team.

Donley has already displayed great potential, and Spurs could have another magic, creative midfielder on their hands.
