A midfielder, who Tottenham have been interested in since the summer, is now seriously weighing up his future.
Questions have been raised over Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur-Joao Palhinha pairing in midfield, with many suggesting it leaves the Lilywhites devoid of creativity, especially in home matches where they have a lot of the ball.
It has now emerged that Thomas Frank’s men are eyeing a move for a Man United star who Tottenham failed with a move for in the summer window.
According to updates over recent days, Spurs are considering going back in for Kobbie Mainoo in January, and a new update has now revealed what the youngster is thinking about his future.
Tottenham target Kobbie Mainoo is open to a January switch
It has now been revealed by TEAMtalk that, amidst interest from Spurs, Mainoo is seriously weighing up a loan switch away from Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.
The 20-year-old is growingly increasingly concerned about missing out on the England squad for next summer’s World Cup, and could thus decide to make a switch in terms of regular game time.
However, it is pointed out that the Red Devils do not boast of great midfield depth, and they may thus not be too keen on greenlighting a temporary switch for their academy graduate.

A source close to the player told the outlet: “Kobbie’s committed to United, but he knows regular football is crucial for his development and England ambitions. The World Cup is a dream, and he can’t afford to be sidelined.”
Spurs face competition for Mainoo
TEAMtalk say that the Lilywhites are continuing to track the midfielder closely and would be open to signing him on loan.
Thomas Frank views Mainoo as an ‘ideal fit’ for his dynamic system and believes the United star can add more mobility to the Spurs midfield.
However, the North Londoners are not the only ones interested in Mainoo, with Newcastle and Man City also keeping a close eye on the player’s situation.
