Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea manager, has been linked to Tottenham amid growing uncertainty over Thomas Frank’s future.

Pressure is mounting on the Dane after Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw against Burnley on Saturday.

A 90th-minute equaliser was needed from Micky van de Ven to avoid Spurs’ blushes against the 19th-placed side in the Premier League.

Fill in the blank: Tottenham will take __ points from their next five matches…

Enzo Maresca will want a specific thing at Tottenham

According to the Daily Express, Maresca could be among the managers Spurs consider if they are to make a change.

The Italian was sacked by Chelsea at the start of January and is now a free agent.

He has also been tipped by many to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but nothing has been made official with regard to it.

Enzo Maresca could be in the running to be the next Spurs manager…

If he cannot join, who would you dream option be and why?

MORE SPURS STORIES

It’s understood that if Maresca is to join Tottenham, his non-negotiable would be that he would want plenty of power.

Due to the lack of decision-making power at Chelsea, he had a falling out with the ownership and was shown the door.

This demand of the former Leicester City manager may prove to be a sticking point with the Spurs board as well.

How can Spurs convince Maresca to join?

It’s clear that whatever Frank was brought in to do has not worked out.

The players look bereft of ideas with and without the ball, and a change would be beneficial if Spurs are to salvage something from this season.

In order to bring Maresca to the club, they can promise him the final veto on transfers and involve him more in the short and long-term plans.

They can guarantee him time and tell him that he will be given two seasons to get the team to play his way and aim for Champions League finishes each season.

He has already shown that he can work with young and high-potential players at Chelsea, and would need to do that at Tottenham as well.

However, if he is in talks with City and believes that he will get the job at the end of the season, it would be nigh on impossible for Spurs to convince him.
