Description

Jan Paul van Hecke is already close to agreeing personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur following the North London club’s opening offer.

Spurs are now in talks with Brighton over a deal for the defender, and the Lilywhites seem to be pushing hard to get the deal done quickly.

👀With 12 months left on his contract, how much should we pay at the most to sign the £70m-rated Jan Paul van Hecke?

Tottenham are looking to sign another top-level centre back, having already agreed a deal to sign Marcos Senesi on a free transfer, and Cristian Romero is set to leave.

The North London club are certainly not wasting any time in getting in new players for Roberto De Zerbi, with work now ongoing to make their third signing already.

Tottenham close to agreeing personal terms for Jan Paul van Hecke

Jan Paul van Hecke is ready to leave Brighton and make the next step in his career, according to VL.

Tottenham have made a serious offer for Van Hecke and are now working to get the deal done ahead of the World Cup.

The 25-year-old is part of the Netherlands’ squad travelling to North America this summer, and he will be playing alongside Micky van de Ven.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Van Hecke could end up pairing Van de Ven in defence for Tottenham, especially with Romero expected to leave later this summer.

Spurs are also deciding what to do with Luka Vuskovic, who will return from his very successful loan spell in the Bundesliga this summer.

🔮 You predict: Where will Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic be playing next season?

People close to Vuskovic suggest he is not yet ready, suggesting another loan could be in order and why Spurs are looking to bring in the Dutch defender.

Roberto De Zerbi is keen for Tottenham to sign Jan Paul van Hecke

Tottenham are now in talks with Brighton to find an agreement over the transfers, and Roberto De Zerbi is very keen for the deal to get done.

De Zerbi worked with the Brighton defender during their time together on the South Coast, and he now views him as a key part of Spurs’ rebuild.

De Zerbi also looks close to signing Senesi, Andy Robertson and Savinho, with Spurs wasting little time in backing their new manager.

Whether Xabi Alonso will take charge of Chelsea vs Tottenham on Tuesday - The Spurs News
Description

Fortunately for Tottenham, Xabi Alonso will not take charge of Chelsea on Tuesday, as his contract with the Blues commences on July 1.

The West London club have managed to pull off the impressive coup of landing one of the best young coaches in world football.

👀 Where would a win over Chelsea rank among the most important in Tottenham’s recent history?

Spurs have just ONE win in 33 PL matches at Stamford Bridge…

On Sunday morning, following their FA Cup final defeat, the Blues announced the appointment of Alonso on a four-year contract.

Many Spurs fans feared that his appointment had come at just the wrong moment, with Roberto De Zerbi’s team due to face Chelsea on Tuesday.

Xabi Alonso will not be the Chelsea manager vs Spurs

Xabi Alonso will not be the Chelsea manager against Tottenham, with Calum McFarlane remaining in charge for the London derby.

The Lilywhites face quite possibly one of the most important Premier League matches in decades, with their top-flight safety on the line.

Spurs have a shocking record at Stamford Bridge, managing just one win there in 33 Premier League matches.

MORE SPURS STORIES

How are we not getting these decisions? 😡

Spurs still have not been awarded a penalty this season… 😳

Depending on West Ham’s result away at Newcastle United, Spurs could need to go away to West London and win.

The Blues will now be massively boosted by the news of Alonso’s appointment, and Stamford Bridge should be rocking on Tuesday.

Despite what has been a shocking campaign for the West London club and their recent FA Cup final defeat, Alonso’s appointment will undoubtedly be a big boost.

Tottenham must take advantage of Chelsea’s FA Cup final fatigue

As mentioned, Tottenham’s Stamford Bridge record is shocking, but they must take advantage of Chelsea’s FA Cup final fatigue.

The Blues gave everything during the Wembley defeat to Manchester City, and McFarlane could be forced to rotate versus Spurs.

Joao Pedro was also forced off with an issue and now faces a race against time to be fit enough to start the game on Tuesday.

But for now, all eyes will be on Sunday’s game at St James’ Park, where West Ham’s result against Newcastle could prove decisive.

Juventus have already scheduled talks to sign £78m player who's been so bad at Tottenham - The Spurs News
Description

Juventus have talks scheduled to sign Tottenham Hotspur loanee Randal Kolo Muani during the summer transfer window.

Kolo Muani has been a very underwhelming signing so far this season, although he could still play a key role in keeping Spurs in the Premier League.

👀 KEEP or SEND BACK: Should Tottenham look to sign Randal Kolo Muani again in the summer?

The striker has produced just five goals and four assists in 39 games for the Lilywhites and has just two games left to make an impact.

Tottenham fans have not been best pleased with the Frenchman, and there will be a huge surprise to see that he is linked with a move to Juve.

Juventus want to sign Randal Kolo Muani after Spurs stint

Juventus remain eager to sign Randal Kolo Muani, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, even after his shocking stint at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

In the coming weeks, Juventus are expected to meet with the European champions to discuss a deal for the attacker.

Most Spurs fans cannot wait to see the back of the French international, who has really struggled to make an impact in N17.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The £78m striker was signed on loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer as the North London club looked to bolster their attacking options.

How are we not getting these decisions? 😡

Spurs still have not been awarded a penalty this season… 😳

In the end, the forward has been forced to play most of his matches out wide, which has not really done him any favours.

After a breakdown in the relations between PSG and Juve, the deal for Kolo Muani collapsed, but now the Turin club are set to return for him.

Juventus even tried to sign Kolo Muani in January, but Spurs could not secure a replacement in time, and he remained at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But as his loan spell draws to a close, it seems very much likely that his next destination will be a return to the club where he managed ten goals in 22 matches.

Tottenham need to drop Randal Kolo Muani vs Chelsea

Roberto De Zerbi must consider dropping Kolo Muani for the trip to Chelsea and looking to start another player at right wing instead.

Tottenham’s squad has been decimated by injuries, leaving them with just two fit wingers, so the Italian will need to be smart if he does rotate.

One option could be playing Conor Gallagher or Lucas Bergvall there, with the other playing in the number ten role.

Daniel Levy shares what he really thinks of Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi - The Spurs News
Description

Daniel Levy walked away from Tottenham Hotspur after last season’s Europa League success.

The former owner of the club is a lifelong Tottenham fan and still cares deeply about the ongoing affairs of the football club.

How are we not getting these decisions? 😡

Spurs still have not been awarded a penalty this season… 😳

Levy spent 14 years overseeing things at Tottenham, leading the team to a Champions League final with some decent managerial appointments and some shrewd recruitment.

Now, Levy has given an interview on Tottenham and delivered his verdict on the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi.

Daniel Levy praises Roberto De Zerbi

It’s clear that Levy is a very big fan of De Zerbi and now believes that Tottenham are in good hands.

At this stage, the club’s Premier League status is up in the air, but Levy thinks Spurs now have a manager who has instilled belief that survival can be secured.

He told ITV News: “I’m optimistic that we will remain in the Premier League.

“I think Tottenham has a great coach, and all the fans and all the employees and everyone now are behind this coach.

“Let’s hope that the players can do it for the last two games.

“Like every fan there’d be emptiness in the stomach. But, we will bounce back. Let’s be optimistic and hope that doesn’t happen.

“I just hope at this moment in time that Tottenham manages to remain in the Premier League.”

Tottenham should have persuaded De Zerbi earlier.

The club had to get the man to replace Thomas Frank, right and in appointing Igor Tudor, Tottenham made the wrong decision entirely.

De Zerbi might not have fancied coming in at that point, but clearly, he was persuadable, and the club had to try harder to get him through the door.

Tottenham’s performances have vastly improved under De Zerbi, and now it remains to be seen whether the club will rue the decision not to appoint him sooner.

Devastating Xavi Simons injury update comes to light in cruel Tottenham blow - The Spurs News
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will be forgiven for feeling as though it never rains, but it pours in North London this season.

Tottenham claimed a huge three points against Wolves on Saturday, with Joao Palhinha scoring eight minutes from time to spare the blushes of the relegation-threatened team.

The win came at a cost, however. Dominic Solanke trudged off with what looked like a hamstring issue, and later in the game, Xavi Simons was stretchered off looking to be in some discomfort.

Now, an update has come to light on Simons, and it’s not ideal from a Tottenham perspective ahead of the final four matches of the season.

Fabrizio Romano makes devastating Xavi Simons claim

According to the transfer guru on social media, Simons has been ruled out for the remainder of 2026 after rupturing his ACL in the incident at Molineux at the weekend.

It’s a serious blow for Simons, who had designs on going to the World Cup with the Netherlands after helping Tottenham avoid relegation from the Premier League.

If the news on Solanke is negative too, it means Tottenham will be without two main attacking talents for the run-in, and that could be seriously detrimental to the team’s cause.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 23-year-old has scored six goals and claimed seven assists this season from 43 appearances in all competitions, with his latest goal proving a superb strike against Brighton.

🤕Who should replace Xavi Simons in the team after his devastating injury prognosis?

Simons will now begin his rehabilitation after undergoing surgery to rectify the rupture, and Tottenham are left once again to rue another injury.

The Dutch performer will be devastated that he has to sit on the sidelines for the rest of the campaign and it remains to be seen how Tottenham can cope with the absence of Simons.

Roy Keane has just predicted whether Tottenham will be relegated - The Spurs News
Description

Roy Keane is backing Tottenham Hotspur to remain in the Premier League and thinks it is between Nottingham Forest and West Ham to stay up.

The North London club are currently 18th in the Premier League table, but showed promising signs during their 2-2 draw against Brighton.

🤔 SAFETY or RELEGATION: Will Roberto De Zerbi keep Tottenham in the Premier League?

Roberto De Zerbi has taken just one point from his first two Premier League matches; however, his team showed great fight against a strong Brighton team.

Now Keane is backing them to get enough points to remain in the top flight and has explained why he thinks they will beat the drop.

Roy Keane says Tottenham will avoid relegation

Roy Keane thinks that Tottenham Hotspur showed enough fight against Brighton to prove that they will avoid relegation this season.

The former Manchester United midfielder thinks that Spurs will win 3-1 at the weekend and put the pressure on West Ham and Forest.

Giving his prediction for the Spurs versus Wolves match, Keane said: “3-1 to Spurs. Spurs will be fine.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Do you know it’s about time they show a bit of fight, a bit of energy, a couple of lads coming back. Even Madison was on the bench.”

Keane now believes that it will be Forest who are relegated from the Premier League, as they will be playing matches in between the Europa League.

🤕 GOOD or BAD: Cuti Romero could miss the rest of the season with an MCL injury…

How does that make you feel, Spurs fans?

When asked who he thinks will be the team to face the drop, Keane said: “I still think Forest.

“Forest have a couple of European matches. I know that was a huge win for him, it was a great response after being one-nil down. But I’m just worried about when they’ve got those games in between.

“West Ham or Forest. Spurs are staying up.”

De Zerbi’s team travel away to Wolves on Saturday afternoon and will need to come away with three points to stand any chance of staying up.

Manchester United considering move for Tottenham star who wants to leave this summer - The Spurs News
Description

The future of Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven will be up in the air this summer.

With Tottenham fighting against relegation to the EFL, the same could be said about a host of players at the club, but Van de Ven is seemingly pushing to leave regardless.

🤔 SAFETY or RELEGATION: Will Roberto De Zerbi keep Tottenham in the Premier League?

The Dutch defender has proved himself as one of the fastest defenders in the Premier League, and any exit this summer would leave Tottenham with a sizeable void to fill.

With Van de Ven seemingly having his heart set on an exit, it’s now emerged that a top Premier League club could move to secure his signature.

Manchester United considering move to sign Micky van de Ven

According to The Athletic, United are weighing up whether to make a move for Van de Ven this summer.

Champions League football looks set to be back on the agenda at Old Trafford next season, and that will ensure a big recruitment drive in the summer.

Defensive reinforcements will definitely be the order of the day as United look to ensure they become a dominant force domestically and abroad once again.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Van de Ven has been a revelation for Tottenham since signing from Wolfsburg, and United won’t be the only club looking to secure his signature this summer.

Tottenham will hope to remain in the Premier League this season and then keep hold of Van de Ven as Roberto De Zerbi begins his own rebuild.

United will still have significant clout in the transfer market, however, and the fact he’s wanted by the Red Devils is a bit of a worry for Spurs.

Gary Neville explains what Tottenham should find really scary after Leeds beat Man Utd - The Spurs News
Description

Tottenham Hotspur took another step towards the Championship on Sunday after a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland in Roberto De Zerbi’s maiden game in charge.

New manager bounces have been non-existent this season for Tottenham, and the team remains without a Premier League victory in 2026.

🤕 GOOD or BAD: Cuti Romero could miss the rest of the season with an MCL injury…

How does that make you feel, Spurs fans?

With West Ham beating Wolves, Forest drawing with Aston Villa and Leeds United stunning Manchester United, it means Tottenham have endured a truly awful weekend.

Now, talk has turned towards Tottenham’s hopes of survival, with Gary Neville believing the latest Leeds result proved very detrimental for the North Londoners.

Gary Neville thinks Leeds result is scary for Tottenham

Leeds overcame United 2-1 at Old Trafford to move six points clear of Tottenham, and with Wolves to play next, it’s pretty clear that Spurs won’t catch the Yorkshiremen.

De Zerbi will be eyeing West Ham and Forest instead, and with his team playing before those two clubs this weekend, there is a big opportunity for Spurs.

Neville believes that the latest result for Leeds is scary for Tottenham and concedes that the team are now staring down the barrel of relegation.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He said on the Gary Neville Podcast: “And I just think tonight, first half, I mean, they were absolutely wonderful.

“That is a performance that I don’t think Tottenham are capable of.

“And that’s the scary thing for Tottenham, not just the six points, by the way, that Leeds United have gone clear of them tonight, but the actual performance levels that they’ve put in.

“They’re nowhere near that. You watched Spurs yesterday against Sunderland, and it’s a set of ingredients that don’t go together, a concoction of misfits.”

Tottenham have to win next two games

Brighton at home and Wolves away shouldn’t be too problematic for a solid Tottenham side, but then this Spurs team is far from that.

The two games do provide a huge opportunity for De Zerbi to get points on the board, however, with six points likely to give Tottenham a fighting chance at the very least.

Forest face Burnley at home this weekend, and if they were to win that, they would move six clear of Tottenham with just five games left, should another defeat be suffered against Brighton.

Tottenham are now dangerously close to being cut adrift, with other teams showing a lot of fight and it really is now or never for this group of misfiring players.

Tottenham told exactly how many weeks Cristian Romero will miss due to a knee injury - The Spurs News
Description

Cristian Romero is expected to miss between five and eight weeks after suffering a knee injury during Tottenham’s defeat to Sunderland.

The defender was shoved into Antonin Kinsky by Brian Brobbey and is now set to be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

🤕 GOOD or BAD: Cuti Romero could miss the rest of the season with an MCL injury…

How does that make you feel, Spurs fans?

The North London club have had an unprecedented injury list this season, and it continues to get worse with the latest news on Romero.

Roberto De Zerbi will now need to deal without his captain for the final six matches, and the Lilywhites are attempting to remain in the Premier League.

Cristian Romero to miss five to eight weeks with knee injury

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero will miss five to eight weeks with a knee injury, according to Martin Arevalo.

With the Premier League having just six weeks until its close, Romero’s season at Tottenham looks to be over.

Romero’s Tottenham career could also be over, with the defender expected to depart the North London club in the next transfer window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, the 27-year-old’s World Cup dream very much remains alive, and he will have time to get fit to start for Argentina.

Tottenham fans are tired of Romero’s ill-discipline for the team, and many will be happy to see his time in N17 finally draw to a close.

🤔 SAFETY or RELEGATION: Will Roberto De Zerbi keep Tottenham in the Premier League?

The Argentine defender has been booked 36 times since making his Premier League debut, which is more than any other defender in that time.

Romero was one booking away from a two-match ban, but now it seems irrelevant as he could miss the rest of the season anyway.

Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven will now be the partnership in defence for Spurs in the last-ditch attempt to keep the team up.

Next up for the Lilywhites is a home game against Brighton and Hove Albion, where nothing less than three points is acceptable.

Tottenham player ratings vs Sunderland, Micky van de Ven blamed for goal, but four players get 2/10 - The Spurs News
Description

Micky van de Ven had another truly shocking performance against Sunderland, but Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Conor Gallagher and Richarlison were even worse.

Tottenham Hotspur slipped to a very costly 1-0 defeat away at Sunderland which now leaves them two points adrift of Premier League safety.

😡 VOTE for Tottenham’s WORST player vs Sunderland…

Roberto De Zerbi is now facing a very critical situation at Spurs, with Nottingham Forest and West Ham United both collecting points in gameweek 32.

It was yet another lacklustre display from Spurs, and there were many truly shocking performances from the players in yellow.

Antonin Kinsky – 6

Antonin Kinsky showed a fair amount of character to bounce back from the disappointment of being subbed after 17 minutes against Atletico Madrid to play well against Sunderland.

The 22-year-old made some great saves to keep Spurs in the game for a large part, and the goal was far from his fault.

Pedro Porro – 4

Pedro Porro’s decline continued to show as he struggled to defend against the Black Cats and hardly looked like a threat in the final third.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Cristian Romero – 5

Tottenham will now be worried about the fitness of Cristian Romero after he was forced off with a bad-looking knee injury.

However, before that, Tottenham fans were unhappy with Romero for the poor discipline he showed during the clash at the Stadium of Light.

🤔 You decide: Should Tottenham STRIP or KEEP Cristian Romero as the captain?

Micky van de Ven – 3

Micky van de Ven once again looked well off the pace for Spurs, and it was a massive deflection off him for Nordi Mukiele’s goal.

Destiny Udogie – 4

Destiny Udogie had some bright moments going forward; however, defensively, he was also poor like the rest of the back four.

Archie Gray – 2

Archie Gray looked pretty lost in the middle of the park for Tottenham, managing just 23 touches and completing 18 passes.

Lucas Bergvall – 2

Lucas Bergvall partnered with him in the middle of the park and completed even fewer passes with seven across 62 minutes of football.

Conor Gallagher – 2

Conor Gallagher continues to prove himself as another shocking signing for Tottenham, and it was hard to tell what his role in the team actually was.

What GRADE would you give Conor Gallagher’s signing at Spurs?

Randal Kolo Muani – 3

Randal Kolo Muani really struggled out on the right wing for Tottenham as the attacker failed to register a single shot at goal and completed just five passes.

Richarlison – 2

Richarlison had a hatful of chances against Sunderland, but spurned all three of them with timid efforts at goal.

Dominic Solanke – 3

Dominic Solanke was also very wasteful in front of goal as he managed to get just two of his four attempts on target.

Xavi Simons – 5

Spurs fans will not understand why he did not start against Sunderland, but the Dutch international failed to have much of an impact.

Joao Palhinha and Pape Matar Sarr – 5

Much like Gray and Bergvall, Joao Palhinha and Pape Matar Sarr also struggled in the middle of the park.

Mathys Tel – 5

Mathys Tel did not make an impact on the game and failed to have an impact.

Kevin Danso – 5

Kevin Danso may be needed to step up for Spurs now after Romero’s injury.
