A former Man United star has insisted that it should be a no-brainer for Bryan Mbeumo to reject the Red Devils’ advances in favour of a switch to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
It emerged a few days ago that, as Thomas Frank edges closer to becoming the Tottenham head coach, Spurs were prepared to hijack Man United’s move for Bryan Mbeumo.
Several sources had claimed that Frank had urged the Tottenham hierarchy to pay £60m to land Mbeumo, but the Lilywhites are considered outsiders in the race to sign the Brentford forward.
Over the last 24 hours, it has emerged that Man United are in the driving seat to land Mbeumo, with Spurs highly unlikely to hijack the deal.
Ben Foster tells Bryan Mbeumo to join Tottenham over Man United
Former United goalkeeper Ben Foster has insisted that the choice in front of the 25-year-old is straightforward, telling him to join Tottenham Hotspur and continue working under Frank if he wants to develop as a player.
He suggested that a move to Old Trafford would only be better for his bank balance, and warned him that he would have to deal with an extremely high-pressure environment.
Foster told The Cycling GK podcast about Mbeumo: “If you want to be part of something that’s going to make you probably a better footballer and work hard, be part of a team, then go to Spurs with Thomas Frank.

“If you are happy picking up your wages knowing that there’s going to be an awful lot more pressure, a lot more eyes on you, judgment, but with their record in the last couple of years of failures, then go to Manchester United.”
Have Spurs already moved on from Mbeumo pursuit?
It has been reported over recent days that Tottenham may make a move for a Crystal Palace star who they have identified as an alternative to Bryan Mbeumo.
In fact, it has been alleged that Frank himself has told Tottenham to sign Eberechi Eze if they are unable to sign Mbeumo.
It would thus appear that the Lilywhites are not too confident of getting a deal for the Bees star over the line despite their impending appointment of Frank.
