Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has struggled for regular game time at Tottenham, and he has been criticised for disciplinary reasons as well. The African midfielder was recently left out of the Super Cup defeat due to those reasons.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that the player has burnt his bridges at Tottenham. The London outfit are now looking to recoup some of the £25 million they paid for him. It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.

Premier League side Everton are interested in the physically gifted midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

“There are a few clubs who would look at Bissouma”, he told Football Insider.

“It seems that he’s burnt his bridges at Tottenham now, being left out of that Super Cup defeat due to disciplinary reasons.

“Spurs will be looking to recoup part of their £25million investment rather than risk losing him for nothing, so they will be open to offers.

“[It’s] not an easy deal to do, due to the price tag on Bissouma’s head if Spurs are looking to cash in.”

Can Tottenham replace Bissouma?

Tottenham will hope to get rid of the player over the next few days and bring in a quality replacement. They have already added Joao Palhinha to the squad, but they could use more depth in the defensive midfield department.

Tottenham need more physicality and defensive cover in the middle of the park. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Meanwhile, Bissouma needs a fresh start, and he will hope to get his career back on track at Everton. It remains to be seen whether he can hit the ground running at the Merseyside club.
