Everton are tracking a number of strikers this summer transfer window.
David Moyes is exploring a deal to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer transfer window, with a £38.5m deal mooted.
Mitrovic could leave the Saudi Pro League after two years, and Moyes has clearly identified him as a potential Dominic Calvert-Lewin replacement.
Villarreal’s Thierno Barry is also on Everton’s radar after his 19-goal season with the Spanish outfit and Basel.
But now, it appears Everton are moving closer to landing a different striking target.
Everton move a step closer to signing Albert Gudmundsson
Everton have been looking at Albert Gudmundsson in recent weeks as they cast their net far and wide for a striker this window.
Gudmundsson is an Icelandic international and has netted over 100 goals in his career, having turned 28 earlier this month.
Tottenham Hotspur were one of many clubs interested in signing him last summer, but now Everton have been given real hope of landing his signature.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Fiorentina have decided against making his loan a permanent deal and he is now expected to leave his parent club Genoa.
The report claims there’s a real possibility Everton could be Gudmundsson’s next destination, with a move to the Premier League a ‘dream’ for the versatile attacker.
So, it seems the ball is very much in Everton’s court, as personal terms shouldn’t be an issue.
Gudmundsson’s versatility would be so valuable for Everton
Gudmundsson is a ‘devastating’ striker, as does have that natural instinct to find the back of the net, but his game is so much more than just goals.
The 28-year-old can operate as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder, and even as a left and right-winger.
So, quite clearly, he’s an extremely intelligent footballer who can set up goals, too, which would be a real asset to Moyes’ squad.
Gudmundsson’s potential arrival also allows the possibility of a front two, with him behind a focal point like Beto.
Certainly an interesting profile to seriously consider.
